OLD BARN № 028
Due to the structure of this barn, I'd say it was built for storing hay and sheltering livestock during inclement weather. Adjacent to the property are several wide-open fields, although some of them have been taken-over for housing development. That somewhat spoils the rural charm of the area, but folk need places to live. This little homestead, likely a remaining parcel from a much larger farm, is like an oasis of days-gone-by.
On the same piece of land, and not far from the barn, is a fabulous, two-story, frame farmhouse with a big front porch, a hallmark of many old homes in The South. It would be fascinating to pop briefly back in time and see this same place in its heyday as a true, working farm!

The color highlights on the barn are really well done! I think that this is my favorites of your barn pieces so far.
That farmhouse is a beauty! So much more charm to it than the quick boxes built for homes in my city. (Though to be fair there are some that have some character.)
There is nothing more exciting than peeking through the trees to spy on an building... wishing you could get up close and personal to see it in all its glory and dream of what it once may have been!
I love the old barn and the house!

love this picture.Fall is one of my favorite seasons.great photography.
my dream home would have a big porch that could be closed in during the winter with panels that would let light and sunshine in to have a very light oasis to work in.
Love the way you have edited your photograph to enhance the old worldly rustic atmosphere. Gives the impression that it was painted. Really beautiful. ♥︎♥︎⚖️♥︎♥︎
This brings back memories of my grandparents farmhouse. Growing up I loved the farm, but really wanted to live in the city. Now I'm in the city and really want to live in the country!

I have been thinking about homesteading as of late. Mainly because a friend I train with has bought herself 100 acres of land way up north and is about to move everything up there and live off the land.
My wife says that is how unibombers start out but so be it!
