Botanical Garden BAN in Sofia
Ban is not what you would think - this is the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. And she has her own huge botanical garden in Sofia.

Botanists, gardeners and just amateur naturalists rest there with soul and eyes. What is there is not.

To be honest, this fact struck me even more than the "range" of cacti - I did not imagine that plants could be smuggled and that they should be "saved" later. Forgive me my nearness in this matter.
The Botanical Garden BAN shares its research materials with more than 450 other similar gardens from 62 countries of the world.
The beginning of this botanical garden was laid as far back as the kings of the last century.
The Tsarska Botanic Garden was located in the center of Sofia. Where there is now a monument to the Soviet army. When they began to build it, they moved the botanical garden outside the city - closer to the Vitosha mountain. Around 1969.
In 1998, the academic botanical garden was opened to visitors. Student's "Meetings with Plants" are held here annually, as well as personal exhibitions of plant species. For example, azaleas, orchids or begonias.
The most visited are greenhouse collections. Such as this collection of cacti, which I took for you.
