A House Built On The Water
Good evening Philippines, hello to all Steemians!
The picture that follows is a house near the port of Lapu-lapu City, the port for smaller boats going to Cebu City. The port is just near the docking area for both national and international ships subject for repair and maintenance. Thus the water in this area is no longer clean and in sometimes during low tides, a foul smell is experienced.
While waiting for the boat schedule to depart in times of low tide with the bad smell, passengers covered their mouth to lessen inhalation. So, I am thinking the family members who live in this house that in any time they can grasp the foul odor in any part of the day, to the extend that they can smell the same while they take rest at night if there is low tide.
The city is highly populated because of many workers from any part of the country because of a Mactan Export Processing Zone (MEPZ), the venue of many manufacturing companies owned by most foreign investors. A common local business here is a room or house rentals. Having a house and lot in the city is considered a family achievement because of a high rate of land which is sold for commecial establishment purposes.
It might be for no choice of having no chance to buy a lot that they survive for this kind of living in this kind of shelter.
