Houston Steem Meetup

Please pardon the baseball jargon, but it plays a big role in my life these days. MLB Post season is in full swing, my son hit his first homerun, and THE ASTROS (need I say more)!!!!! I am going to give a brief recap of the meetup using 3 baseball bullet points.
Hits - Misses - Home Runs

HITS

We had 18 people RSVP using the MeetUp platform as guests and 4 speakers lined up. Of the 18 people that RSVP'ed on the MeetUp platform, only 12 attended. The other 6 attendees were from offline marketing and me promoting crypto while I am out and about. The final count was 18 attendees. SCORE!!!!

We had @MrWang speak on his experience on the steem blockchain from blogging to dabbling with user issued assets.

@SirLunchTheHost spoke about successfully vlogging and the value of being different and how that compliments the other steemians on the platform. That was @adsactly what the crowd needed.

@xclouduser touched on a STEEM BLOCKCHAIN application being developed by himself and I. That was a Houston Steem MeetUp Exclusive. We will be branding it and deploying the beta on the STEEM BLOCKCHAIN in November and will be ready for SMT integration.

@instructor2121 was the most captivating speaker as all the technical questions were diverted to him. He covered the steem.io whitepaper, @SteemSpeak, and applications showcases such as @Zappl, @Dtube, and @Dsound.

My take on the hits is that overall there were alot of positives to take away from all of the speakers. The attendees were grateful for the knowledge they received and I am fairly certain that the presenters were grateful for an opportunity to share their projects and knowledge.

MISSESS

One of the biggest misses was the Live Stream that we had set up. The VOIP camera set up in the room kept dropping the feed. Instead of prolonging the MeetUp, we decided it would be better just to start presenting to the people that were there.

Another miss was that I changed the venue location for the MeetUp 2 weeks ago and did not ensure that all members were aware. Next time I know to utilize all the features offered by the MeetUp application.

Home Runs

We were able to present the intro for the Radio Show and Live International Webcast called Coin Talk Live which will hosted by @Xtrodinarypilot. We will be based in Houston and cover all things blockchain and crypto. We encourage everyone from Steemit to watch, listen, call in, and engage.
