Judge Decides to Sentence Manafort to Under Fours Years: Despite the special counsel prosecutors recommending up to 25 years in prison, U.S. District Judge and Reagan appointee T.S. Ellis said he found those were guidelines “excessive” and instead sentenced former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort to under four years in federal prison on an 18-count criminal indictment for bank and tax fraud - which included laundering over $30 million to offshore bank accounts and possibly even treason.

Gee, must be nice to be rich and well-connected. Come on, there’s people in jail for selling pot that are serving over 20-year sentences! And this guy’s found guilty on 18 criminal counts and gets sentenced to less than four years? Who the hell was it who said crime doesn’t pay anyway? Just make sure you’re wearing a nice suit when you commit the crime.

And for those of you Republicans who are concerned about how well poor Paul Manafort will survive in jail, there’s really no need to worry. I’m sure he’ll be released shortly after he publicly declares he’s now "found Jesus” in prison. And then, after he gets out, perhaps he can get a job helping the Jim Bakker television ministries hawk those $2100 buckets of survival food. The possibilities seem endless.

If you ask me, it’s almost too bad Charles Dickens is no longer with us. Why, he could do a rewrite of one of his iconic novels and call it “A Tale of Two Justice Systems.” And if you’re a betting person, I think it’s a pretty safe bet that a certain judge has just jumped to the front of the line when the next Supreme Court vacancy pops up. I guess the only question left to ask is - did Judge Ellis wear his MAGA hat into the courtroom during the sentencing?
