Just when you thought you'd seen it all and the world couldn't possibly get any crazier- a new group of loonies jumps up and proves you wrong! In fact, I'm at a loss as how to tag this. At first I thought it was a joke... I watched this video on YouTube...

and of course I had to look it up. I do have to say their taste in music leaves much to be desired and Sister Dandelion isn't likely to get a Grammy any time soon (but given the state of modern music, you never know).

From their website...

"We come together to form a congregation of adherents to our female born, lesbian-feminist-based religions beliefs and traditions. We intend to serve our adherents through worship, service, and sistership with our congregants. We intend to accomplish the growth and continued strengthening of our congregation. The beneficiaries of our accomplishments are the adherents to our religious beliefs – Women and Girls. We will achieve our purpose through regular worship and service with our congregants and with other Women and Girls who may wish to become congregants."

No transgenders allowed... No vagina, no membership! This seems a little hypocritical given that their whole philosophy is based on the fact that there is discrimination against women. Aren't women supposed to be the nurturing, accepting sex? When asked about it, things got a little snarky:

If women’s boundaries make you sad, I might suggest you sound like a rapist or a criminal. Respect women’s boundaries.

Not a very tolerant or accepting bunch! I'm sure they wouldn't have a very tolerant view of Christianity given that it's based on the "patriarchy," or anything else to do with men- EXCEPT- the 1st Amendment guarantee of religious freedom. I almost cracked up when I read this:

Basically, their manifesto is just a bunch of repetitious nonsense- they say the same thing over and over again as many different ways they can think of to say it. This part entitled "Who Can Vote For Trustees" will illustrate my point...

Who can vote for Trustees and Serve as Trustees?

Trustee position are open to all members who possess the following qualifications:

· Being female at birth.

· A testimony to an experience of the “new birth” in lesbian feminism.

· Evidence of a consistent Lesbian life.

· An indication of a willingness to contribute regularly to the financial support of the Church of which she must be a Member.

· Acceptance of the Tenets of Faith as set forth in The Lesbian Heresy by Sheila Jeffreys, Gyn/Ecology: The Metaethics of Radical Feminism by Mary Daly, Sister Outsider by Audre Lorde and other texts as designated from time to time by the Trustees.

· Having reached at least 18 years of age.

· Having regularly attended services of, and supported, the Church for a period of at least three consecutive months prior to the date of the individual’s desire to become a Trustee.

· Agreement to being governed by the Church, as may be amended from time to time.

Active voting membership in the PCMW is open to members who possess the following qualifications:

· Being female at birth.

· A testimony to an experience of the “new birth” in lesbian feminism.

· Evidence of a consistent Lesbian life.

· An indication of a willingness to contribute regularly to the financial support of the church of which she must be a Member.

On a positive note- every time I feel like I'm going crazy, I can think about these people. But then again, given today's social and political culture- it might just catch on! I wonder if these were the protestors at the Kavanaugh hearings???
