Free Internet For Everyone - World WiFi ICO Review

The ICO/Token sale stage is a very important stage for blockchain projects, because this is the stage where the team builds a community of supporters and investors for the project. This is most importantly the stage where early investors/adopters of the project get the first chance to purchase the WT tokens. 

There are thousands of ICOs out there right now and a larger percentage of them ate either duds or scam projects, so to be on a safe side and avoid losing my money, I analyze certain properties of a project before making the decision to invest in it. 

The project properties I reference before invest funds into a blockchain project are;

• The project concept and how it will be accepted by the target market
• The team behind the project and the level of their previous experience in their respective fields
• The roadmap and progress so far
• The ICO and Token analysis 

If at least 3 of this four reference points checks out then I will proceed to invest.

The Project Concept

World WiFi is a project that recognizes a specific need and utilizes available unused resources to tackle it. Availability of internet access is a problem most parts of the world face, especially in Africa and some parts of Asia and Arab states. 

For Example: I live in Lagos Nigeria which is one of the largest cities in Africa in terms of economy, but Internet access to poses a form of challenge for most businesses and individuals, Internet subscriptions are expensive meaning the average individual buys the low subscription packages and tries to limit their online activities. This limits their potentials and that of their businesses, while the People capable of purchasing enough subscription will have to purchase subscription packages they are unable to exhaust in their own.

The World WiFi project relates to me and the problems in my immediate community directly and I believe with this project the average individual can gain free Internet access, while the router owners get paid for sharing internet access that would have otherwise been wasted at the end of their subscription. The advertisers however get their products and services directly in front of the consumers with precisely targeted advertising. Everyone wins.

The project concept makes sense and has a pass mark from me.

The Project Team

The project team matters just as much as the project concept because a project can be great on paper and have all the right reasons to do well but if the team in charge is not competent enough, it will eventually fail.

Looking into the World WiFi team members and their profiles I have a couple of "All-stars" in the team starting from the team head ILYA YASHIN who is a cofounder of 2 WiFi companies currently doing good and also took part in the creation of IT integrator in Moscow, the second for me is the Technical director YURI POLOVINKIN who participated in the launch of WiFi network in Moscow metro and has his own hotspot solution another "All-star" for me is ALISHA GOLDEN who is in charge of marketing and has worked previously with Forbes, The Huffington post, Wired, and a host of other giant media outlets, I believe marketing is also key to the success of any project so Alisha is a very important member of the team.

The team has a total of 11 team members who are well experienced in their respective fields, also added to that are 8 advisors with a lot business and tech experience between them. I believe this team is competent enough and capable of taking this project to great heights and achieve its set goals.

The Project Progress/ Roadmap

The main reference point I consider when checking a project's progress is the presence of a working prototype to prove the team is actually serious with the projects development and is not just concerned about raising money.

The project has made massive progress between August and December 2017, in that time they have developed a working prototype and also the projects smart contract. 

This is a thing of value in this current time where the ICO space is saturated with "whitepaper projects", when a project has a meaningful use case, and a working prototype combined with a good team it is most likely going to do very well as regards value and return on investment.

ICO Review

The WT utility token will serve as the fuel for the ecosystem's rocket going to the moon, it will be a means of paying rewards for the router owners and also what the advertiser will use to pay for the adverts.

Conclusion
