Today's Weed News for August 7th 2018 #PHARMACANN

For today's weed news we go to the great state of Illinois.

An American company based in Oak Park, IL called PharmaCann has just come up with a new way to consume medical cannabis.

By incorporating something called "self emulsifying drug delivery system" technology, or SEDDS, PharmaCann was able to create a revolutionary type of cannabis capsule which makes the medicine easier for the body to absorb. The effect is also longer-lasting compared to smoking or using sublingual tinctures.

According to Chris Diorio, director of research and development at PharmaCann, "This product helps improve quality of life for patients and they report that it last longer and feel stronger than other oral delivery options, meaning they only need to take it twice a day instead of three or four times".

SEDDS technology is widely used in immunosuppressant drugs as well as antivirals and many others in the nutrition pharmaceutical and biotech Industries.

The capsules are already available to New York medical marijuana patients, and PharmaCann is moving into the Illinois market as we speak.

"This breakthrough reflects PharmaCann's commitment to innovation to ensure we provide patients the most effective and high-quality product ... By combining this established technology with our unique production methods, we can provide patients the effectiveness of smoking cannabis in a convenient and often more preferable oral form" added Diorio.

The capsules have no odor and can be taken with or without food.

Sounds very convenient if you ask me. It's going to be interesting what other crazy cannabis products the future will bring.
