India: Supreme Court Delays Cryptocurrency Hearing Again!
In a disappointing update the apex court of India adjourned all matters in the court for another hearing including Cryptocurrency vs RBI matter. I've been waiting till evening today to write an update hoping we get a new date but the moment it seems as though the matter is likely to have been pushed forward to the next week.
But the court hasn't given a date just yet.
However what is known at the moment is that Supreme Court is hearing multiple petitions related to cryptocurrencies in the court. They are consider a petition from 2017 asking the court to ban it outright. It is also hearing petitions requesting the court to overturn RBI's mandate as well as a petition asking the government to clarify it's stance on the matter.
All petitions have been clubbed the court had announced previously that no petitions can be filed in any other court of the country as it will consider all of them together and provide a verdict on the matter.
Now that multiple delays have occurred I'm unsure where this is going. However, rest assured I will come back once we have a new listing date and the matter goes forward again.

You can’t expect more from India’s judicial system. It is the most common result of many of the cases.

Is there any deadline that they have? Or can they postpone it forever? I can understand this is very frustrating for you..
Not yet. They are free to change dates at their will. sigh!

Although it seems a bit disappointing to have the date pushed back further but is it possible that the something good might be happening?
At this point of time I am just guessing and we'll only know the truth after the decision. Is it possible that the crypto community of India is rallying? Why take so much time otherwise? Earlier it seemed that they might just let RBI get away with it and now we are having the 'tareek pe tareek' situation.......... I wonder if it isn't the RBI, that is sweating bullets at this moment.
It was pushed forward because court gave priority to another case and cancelled all other hearings scheduled today. Indian judiciary at its best eh?
