एक समय राजा गोपीचन्द को उनकी रानिया हंसी मजाक करती हुईं
मालिश कर रही थी और इनके शरीर की सुन्दरता को देखकर खुश हो रही थी।
इस दृश्य को गोपीचन्द की माता भी महल के उपर से देख रही थी, लेकिन
माता को बड़ा दु:ख हो रहा था कि मेरे सुन्दर बचे को यह चुड़ेले खा जाएगी।

ऐसे विचार करते-करते माता की आंखों में आंसू आ गये जो राजा
गोपीचन्द के शरीर पर पड़े। आंसू गिरते ही राजा ने ऊपर देखा माताजी रो रही है, राजा को बड़ा दुःख हुआ और तुरन्त मालीस कराते हुए उठ कर
माताजी के पास गये और पुछा ।है माताजी आप क्यों रो रही है । अगर किसी
ने कुछ कह दिया हो तो बताओ मैं उसका सिर काट दूंगा, आप आज्ञा दीजिए।
