Hi friends!

You might remember that about 3 months back, I've posted about Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli turning vegan. This decision of Kohli was expected to have a great influence over millions of his fans.

At the beginning of this new year, here comes another inspiring news. Former cricketer turned politician Mr. Navjot Singh Siddhu too has turned vegan now.

Is this a Virat effect? May be, to some extent. In a TV interview when talking about his plant based diet, Siddhu proudly tells that he turned vegan and Virat too is vegan.

It's noteworthy that Siddhu is a teetotaler and a long time vegetarian. It so happened that in his youth he hunted a deer in Patiala. Later he found that the deer he killed was actually pregnant. This incident filled him with remorse and he quit consuming meat. Thus he turned vegetarian.

And it's a pleasure to learn that now he has turned completely plant based. He calls himself a vegan now.

"Vegans have no MRP" - Siddhu

Siddhu credited his newly gained fitness and energy to his vegan diet. Not only he adheres to his vegan diet but most of his diet is raw too. In his own characteristic style, Mr. Siddhu describes his vegan diet as No M.R.P. diet. No, with MRP he doesn't meant Maximum Retail Price but he defines his No MRP diet as:

M : No Milk and milk products
R : No Refined oil
P : No Packed (or processed) products

He talked at length for what and when he eats and how he manages his diet during his frequent travels in an interview on Punjabi news channel Jagbani. Do watch him between 9:48 minutes & 14:20 minutes in the following video:

Here, I'd like to clarify that though all animal milk & milk products are obviously non-vegan however, Refined Oil & Packed food products (that which have no animal ingredient and ain't tested on animals) are actually categorized as vegan. But people who want to follow a healthy vegan diet may or may not consume these as an additional personal discipline.

So peeps, in this new year, let's welcome Siddhu as a new addition to ever growing vegan family!
