Diwali Celebrations in an Office

Hello friends!

Wishing you a very very happy Diwali to you!

In the darkness of new moon, this festival of light is celebrated. To me it signifies hope of light in the darkest of time.

Do you know, this day is also celebrated as Lord Mahavir's Nirvan Diwas / Moksh Kalyanak DIwas(Salvation Day)? Vardhman Mahavir is said to have atained salvation on this very night of New Moon.

Both the festivals are very important to Hindus & Jains. Diwali has become the biggest festival to be celebrated in India. Celebration begins several days in advance.

As you know, I was in New Delhi for past few days and have just returned to my home town. One evening I went to meet my friend and stayed at his home in Ghaziabad. Unfortunately, I forgot my laptop charger in my room there. Since my stay was in South Delhi, it was pretty far to go and collect it from Ghaziabad. So I asked my friend to bring it to his NOIDA office.

The day I was leaving Delhi, I went to his office to collect my laptop charger. He told that his office is organizing Diwali celebrations that day. I was happy to join in.

The office was well decorated. After the Aarti, Several competitions were organized among staff members. I particularly liked the Rangoli competition. They also played Tambola game as it's custmary to play some betting game on this festival. I too played Tambola and won the first house ...LOL! There were other competitions like Best dress, song & dance performances etc. Prizes, gifts and sweets were distributed to all.
