Renaming of "National Milk Day" in India
If you noticed that the day before, India was celebratting its 5th National Milk Day. This day was esablished in honour of Verghese Kurien who is also known as the "Father of the White Revolution of India". Under his leadership Operatoin Flood, the world's largest dairy development program, made India world's biggest dairy producer.
After Kurien's demise in 2012, his birthday was notified to be celebrated as "National Milk Day" 2014 onward by Indian Dairy Association.
World over, dairy industry keep making efforts to promote dairy products and project them as important and indispensable part of human life. Whole month of June is dedicated as dairy month worldwide.
To oppose this propaganda by the cruel and violent dairy industry, an Indian N.G.O. (non-profit) SHARAN has started to promote the truth about dairy industry.
SHARAN (Sanctuary for Health & Reconnection to Animals) strongly opposes the use of any animal products for a healthy human life and regularly organizes health camps to successfully treat several serious lifestyle diseases like diabetes, hypertension, heart-diseases etc. through plant based diet all across the world.
So SHARAN took up to launch its protest about this National Milk Day. It has renamed this day as National Dairy Education Day
There is so much to make people aware about the lies of dairy industry. Following is one picture that is making rounds on social media. In this picture they have used the popular Amul (founded by late Kurien) mascot and made some points on why this day shouldn't be celebrated but mourned:
