"Vegan" Word Gaining Momentum: Women of India - National Organic Festival 2018 Had Several Vegan Stalls

This weekend I got an opportunity to visit the 5th edition of Women of India - National Organic Festival 2018 being held at New Delhi.

This was on my Must Visit list on my Delhi trip as this was the first time that The Vegan Project was included in this fest.

I've never seen Govt. Ministry using the word "vegan' in their official communication. This is a proof that vegan movement is spreading in India.

I was delighted to note that among about 100 stalls available in the fest, 18 were completely vegan. What more, other organic stalls too were carrying some vegan range. Even non-vegan stall owners were aware of veganism and putting up extra efforts to make their offering completely vegan.

There was all kinds of vegan cosmetics, dairy & meat alternatives, toileteries, candles, soaps, lipsticks and ready to serve vegan preparations like tea, coffee, ice-creams, dahi-bada, chocolates, brownies and more

I tasted some chocolate pastries and they were the yummiest pastries I ever had. I also had a wood-fired vegan pizza that was prepared on site. What a taste it had, I petted myself for ordering that!

I happened to meet many of my vegan friends there. And some of them, I was meeting for the first time despite we knew each other for years. What could be better than such get togethers!

This WoI festival is organized by the Ministry of Women and Child Developmen as it's headed by staunch animal lover Smt Maneka Sanjay Gandhi at present. But I sincerely hope this tradition will be continued by her successor too ...success of this fest would pribably ensure this.
