Dalam beberapa hari terakhir, banyak keluhan dengan penampilan baru Steemit. Ada yang mengeluh tidak bisa membuka akun Steemit dan menduga sudah ada error dalam sistem blockchain Steemit. Parahnya lagi, ada yang mengkhawatirkan akunnya sudah dibobol pelaku kejahatan siber.

Padahal, perubahan itu bergitu sederhana. Hanya memisahkan aplikasi Steemit.com dengan dompet atau wallet, tempat aset kita berupa Steem dan Steem Dollar (SBD) tersimpan. Perubahan tersebut menjadi masalah serius—sejauh amatan saya dalam berbagai diskusi—karena untuk masuk ke Steemit.com hanya bisa dengan menggunakan posting key atau kunci postingan.

Bagi yang sudah lama menggunakan posting key untuk membuat postingan, tentunya bukan masalah serius. Banyak Steemian sudah lama hanya menggunakan posting key untuk membuat postingan dan menyimpan master key di tempat aman. Tujuannya, untuk mengamankan akun dari praktik pencurian atau scamming yang marak terjadi. Master key hanya digunakan untuk kebutuhan tertentu yang tidak bisa diakses dengan posting key atau active-key.

Masalahnya, tidak semua Steemian mengetahui tentang adanya beberapa password di Steemit untuk kebutuhan berbeda. Ada yang hanya memiliki master key atau password utama dan tidak pernah mengubahnya karena takut bermasalah. Di awal-awal memakai platform Steemit, banyak saran agar tidak mengubah password. Tujuannya agar tidak terjadi kesalahan fatal yang menyebabkan password hilang atau hilangnya akses ke akun.

Nah, bagi yang belum mendapatkan posting key yang sekarang menjadi satu-satunya akses ke Steemit.com, harus segera berkunjung ke fitur Key & Permission. Ada yang bertanya, bagaimana mau ke sana sementara membuka akun Steemit.com harus dengan posting key. Kalau hanya memiliki master-key, bisa langsung masuk ke Steemitwallet.com dengan master-key. Kemudian hanya klik di fitur Keys & Permission di bagian kiri atas. Di sana nanti akan terlihat posting key di bagian paling atas, kemudian secara berurutan ada active-key, owner-key, dan memo-key. Mudahnya, hanya dua password saja yang digunakan, yakni posting key untuk akses ke Steemit.com dan active-key untuk akses ke wallet.

Jangan lupa untuk menyimpan password posting key dan master-key di tempat aman sebelum login kembali.
