Hello Steemit... The main requirement of happiness is to have money

in #indonesia6 years ago

Hehehe, that's our dream. We all want to be successful, rich, and respected people. Having a rich and successful life is an achievement. And, this is not something wrong.

However, ironically, after reaching all that, it turns our lives do not go happily. We, who had been convinced that all problems would be solved when we were rich, found ourselves still in misery after having everything we dreamed of.

Seeing this fact, we then concluded that property is not everything. Treasure does not make us happy. Furthermore, we conclude that happiness has nothing to do with treasure.

This conclusion is true. Yup! We all agree that wealth is not everything. It is not a determinant of happiness. The more wealth does not mean we are happier.

However, to note, this conclusion is sometimes misinterpreted by some people. Many of us are then antipathy towards wealth, and choose to live simple and away from social life. They isolated themselves and rejected modernity and all its hustle and bustle. There are also those who then judge people who seek to achieve financial success as people who are too pursuit of the world and never be grateful to the in have.

In this case, instead of focus @alhasan to judge what's right and what's wrong. In this paper, @alhasan wants to share the view that the more wealth does not mean we are happier. Furthermore, in this paper, @alhasan wants to share the view of the existence of the relationship between matter and happiness, as well as whether happiness is related to our mind and how to achieve true happiness.

Well, now we just see the following explanation.

The main requirement of Happiness

Above @alhasan say, many people who misinterpret the conclusion that the more wealth does not necessarily make us more happy.

Then, where is the misinterpretation? We must recognize the fact that our lives are limited by the physical and the environment. To survive we need food, boards, health, and security. In addition, we need clothing and education. If we are antipathy towards wealth and choose to isolate ourselves from the environment, we can be sure we will not survive.

To be more clear, let's look at the following illustrations:

Suppose we reject property with makeshift work. Unfortunately, we are an integral part of society. We must follow the rules of society if we still want to survive. We have a house, not that we are free to live in that house. We are obliged to pay taxes for our homes. If we want to travel, we need transportation. We have to pay to be able to ride the means of transportation. Or, if we have the means of transportation, we need to buy fuel to power the engine.

When our wife is sick, we need to take her to the hospital for treatment. And, we also need a cost to cure it. Similarly for the security and education of our children. There's no way we can get everything without treasure.

What if we abandon all those needs? We can not possibly not have those needs because they are a requirement of life. We need to eat, we need clothing to protect our bodies from heat and cold. We also need a board or house to protect ourselves from our rain, heat, and privacy. We also need health insurance. To get all that, we need treasure and money.

Furthermore, when our basic needs are not met, it is impossible for us to be happy. How will we be happy if our stomach is empty? How will we be happy if our wife is sick while we do not have the money to take her treatment? How will we be happy if our children are shivering in the rain? In this case, we can deduce the relationship between wealth and happiness, that we will be happy when our basic needs are met. And, because in this day and age, to fulfill the basic needs we need the treasure of money alias, it can be concluded that to be happy we need treasure!

This does not mean that @alhasan judges that our brother who lives below the poverty line has no happiness. @alhasan sure, those who still live below the poverty line have their own way to happy themselves and their families. By continuing to be grateful, positive thinking, and accepting God's gift, without continually complaining, at least their suffering diminishes.

However, the struggle for life does not necessarily stop just by being grateful, positive thinking, and not complaining. Furthermore, we must continue to strive to meet the needs of life. Because, otherwise, we will not survive.

However we can be grateful and never complain, if we do not compensate by struggling to meet the needs of life, we can not survive. An empty stomach needs to be satisfied. The attacking pain needs to be healed. Cold at night needs to be warmed up with the house, the room, and the blanket.

For that reason, besides being grateful, we must work! Our basic needs are motivations that encourage us to continue to dream and work. In fact, with this life-sustaining impulse, from which our primitive life originally, we eventually become a developed and cultured society.

Well, then why when our needs fulfilled and even when having abundant wealth we still miserable?

Thank You

Best Regards,
