Why the Turkish - Syrian Relations Went Down from Excellent to Horrible?

in #informationwar5 years ago

In the early years of this century Turkey was facing setbacks everywhere from a poor economy to political instabilities to enmity with all neighbors, you name what's bad they had it, until the time came and a Muslim Brotherhood Erdogan stole the movement from his mentor Erbakan and hid himself and his party under a very thick highly professional veneer.

Once he did so, and after realizing that joining the Christian Club which is the EU is impossible since his country is not a majority Christian he was looking for any salvation, and that came from Syrian President Assad.

Syria, literally, opened the gates for Turkey south all the way into the Arab world, made the impossible of putting the most hated Ottoman empire and all its crimes against the Arabs, especially against the Syrian people behind our backs and look forward to a better future.

Within a couple of years many and with the transit routes opened for Turkish good to reach the GCC countries and north Africa, the Turkish economy started breathing, and then came the investments in the Turkish real estate and tourism industries. Thanks only to the Syrians who saw in Turkey a bigger sister especially after getting more surrounded by Israel through Jordan then the US invasion of Iraq creating another Israel there for Syria, but that lived not long.

Erdogan had other plans which he explicitly stated in one of his speeches - check this out. He was assigned to serve as a main member of the Greater Israeli Project after being appointed to that role by his new buddy George Bush Jr. Erdogan, the Muslim Brotherhood hypocrite he is flipped and the first hand he bit was the Syrian hand.

The rest in my answer to a Quora member who asked: What is the root and ongoing cause of poor relations between Syria and Turkey?

And my reply to him there I'll copy below to preserve it from Quora's censorship and to share the info with readers here, so this is what I wrote:

On 2nd and 3rd of June 2011 a large number of terrorists estimated between 500 and 700 heavily armed terrorists entered the Syrian Jisr Shoghour border town in northwest of Idlib on the borders with Liwa Iskandaron (under Turkish occupation Hatay) and massacred the personnel of the Syrian army and security post in the city.

Prior to that reports were emerging that Turkey is very well behind massive cross border weapons and terrorists smuggling into Syria, but this marked a direct exposure, with minimum 500 terrorists with their arms couldn’t go unnoticed from the Turkish side and get smuggled into the Syrian side.

The breaking point was when the Turkish FM and later PM Ahmet Davotuglo visited the Syrian President Assad to deliver a demand list from his boss Erdogan, the main demand is that a new Syrian government to be formed with majority given to Muslim Brotherhood members who were mainly in exile in Turkey, and to transfer many powers of the president to the newly formed government. The Syrian people have witnessed horrific horrors and massacres at the hands of the Muslim Brotherhood in their earlier wave of terror between 1976 - 1982, Syrians still remember their relatives blown up in explosions in Damascus, Homs, Aleppo, the assassination of a large number of Syrian scientists, intellectuals, scholars, army officers, and even ordinary public workers.

Four incidents in particular: The Infantry School massacre in Aleppo, the Azbakiyeh bombing in Damascus, the bombing and attack on the Soviet Experts residential buildings in East Tijara residential neighborhood, and the Hama massacres.

The latest until today is used by the Muslim Brotherhood and their western propaganda pundits with evil intentions to sow strife among the Syrian society by falsely claiming that the Syrian Arab Army massacred anywhere between 13,000 and I heard one of them say up to 45,000 Syrian civilians in the central city of Hama. What really happened was the SAA response to an infiltration of the city by 400 of the Vanguard Fighters, the Muslim Brotherhood armed militia, they slaughtered, and pay good attention to the word slaughtered, raped, and chopped up government employees, entire families of SAA officers, and many others, the whole confrontation caused the total deaths of up to 2000 persons, all the 400 militia members included and the rest were state employees and their families. Just like today whenever the SAA kills terrorists the western mainstream media cries for civilians killed, and when terrorists kill Syrians they’re completely ignored or they’d try to find justifications for that.

BWT, for reference to the Hama confrontation you can check the US’s own DIA report declassified 30 years later in 2012. (You can download it from here)

Keeping all that in mind, the Syrian leadership, the Syrian Armed Forces, and the Syrian people would fight back any such attempt of accepting members of this terrorist organization back in the country, let alone in ruling posts in the government. The visiting Davotuglo was shown the door and Erdogan promised he would visit in Damascus Great Omayyad Mosque declaring war on the Syrian state.

The rest is evident in the news.

End of my reply there.
