Anyone thinks that the best way to combat lies is to turn off the television. This sounds simple, logical and effective at first glance. But corporate communication strategy goes much further. It is innocent to believe that a horde of designers, creatives, market analysts and communications strategists work only to sell Coca-Cola. Their power is superior. The influence of hegemonic media escapes the television screens. Public platforms where sharing information gives us the FALSE feeling of freedom.

Why do I say it is a false freedom?

     All you have to do is enter CNN's YouTube channel and see how many subscriptions and views their videos have. Compared to independent media, its insignificant. Somewhere the system fails. Everyone has the place to share material, this is indisputable.

Where is the failure?

     Freedom of expression doesn't exist if all voices don't have the same power. It's like whispering in a discotheque. As consumers, we must demand access to a plural market of information. Media are a example of why an unregulated system becomes the prostitute of capital. The asymmetries of resources unifie a discourse in which the corrupt is protect. No voice says the opposite.

     But their voracity is insatiable. The hunger for maintain this dictatorship, is not only in the analogical media. They know that people today inform in other ways. Social networks, whatsapp chains, independent portals among others. And they are everywhere.

     Social networks are an essential pillar to enhance the fraud. Protected by anonymity, hundreds of thousands of fake accounts influence opinion. I'm not against anonymity on the internet, I'm pointing out dishonest practices. Within the repudiables tricks we also found cases like Cambrydge Analytica. Contrary to what is report, their activities went much further.

     To give the dimension, it was necessary to give a superficial analysis about this.
By complex algorithms, surveys and apps, they collect data of millions users. Date used to interfere in electoral results. When the victim was classifie within certain parameters. Paid personnel followed their activity to influence their ideologies. I give a practical example to clarify:

     Suppose John is very interested in pollution. John usually enters certain pages of ecological activists. When John goes to the comment sector (hosted on facebook) and gives his opinion in the article. A "real user" appears from thin air. Answers John that "such a candidate" plans to lower carbon emissions and clean up the lakes. The damage, done. For this they have intelligence services, psychologists and a huge database.      The power of unified discourse goes beyond television and networks. It is enough for neighbors, friends and co-workers to speak naturally of this one version of story. And sometimes about things that never actually happened. This is how an artificial reality is forge. microclimates of hatred and selective fanaticism.

     Sadly, there are no easy and simple solutions to avoid this information blockade. In fact, in these cases simplicity is precisely the greatest ally of the disinformers. The only effective way to avoid this blockage is to go further. Learn, read and internalize. Doubt of those who reduce complex issues, poverty is not that "we loose work culture". This, for example is a very clear reductionism. Of the people who are of working age (from 18 to 70) a large majority work and are poor. Those who don't work are because they have a disability, or because they simply don't get a job.

     The truth is that the vast majority of hard-working people barely survive. We live in a system where there is no way to have an honest social growth. Who make the most profit? Through evasion, exploitation, undeclared work, sale of narcotics and prostitution. Or those who began the career of life in the comfort of having been born with advantages. Such as light, home, education, semi-functional family among others. All the people remain simply fall off the map and are demonize as "maintained".

     I'm almost never in favor of reductionism, but I allow myself this one alone. You have to do exactly the opposite of what the corporate media tells you.

I have sympathy for some politicians, at least here in my homeland. But I think they are not all the same, as one would have them believe. If not more so, that's what they need you to believe. There are real patriots who want to create a healthy society. It is your duty and even an obligation of responsible citizens to inform us about who the people who fight are, so that we can support them, or at least not sink them because of our ignorance.
