Politically Correct : SCOTUS Hysteria

Supreme (Court) Hysteria

The hysteria of the Democratic Party was on full display this past week as they ramped up their anti-Trump Supreme Court nominee rhetoric. Without even knowing who the nominee was, Democrats kept up their rants against any potential selections. Then, when the nomination of Judge Brent Kavanaugh was announced, they showed their glaring hypocrisy by calling him a “reactionary ideologue”.

Just what is wrong with the Democrats? We have been trying to answer that since before the civil war.

As the party of slavery and now, enslavement, the Democras need a welfare state to keep their power. They need to keep “the People” dependent on the government. (Can you say “Socialism”?)
Now Trump is ruining all their plans with jobs, higher wages, freedom and economic growth.

Why is this the most important Supreme Court nomination in history?

Brent Kavanaugh is terrible, he thinks it is ok for the NSA to spy on Americans without a warrant and he is against net neutrality, he thinks internet service providers should be allowed to control what you can look at on the internet...

https://techcrunch.com/2018/07/09/brett-kavanaugh-tech-net-neutrality-nsa/

This guy does not deserve to be a janitor at a public library... ;-p

Well... I'm against net neutrality. If an ISP starts blocking sites, that just opens up for other competitors, which are already knocking on the door.

As far as the meta data of people, yes they shouldn't be tracking that in general. But, if you put something on the internet that is publicly accessible, then you are at risk of having it tracked by all sorts of people.

He may not be the best pick and we'll have to see what he rules, just how Kennedy/Robers was expected to rule some ways, but ruled the other way.

He may not be the best pick and we'll have to see what he rules

Why take the chance, he already thinks it is ok for the US government to collect private data of Americans, based on what he wrote in the article I linked. Why not just nominate a judge that is against government spying on its own citizens without a warrant...?

If an ISP starts blocking sites, that just opens up for other competitors

That is the problem, there is no competition anymore because these corporations are too big, no one can compete because they either price their competition out of the market or just buy them... Internet service providers have one job, to give an internet connection to a consumer. They should be treated just like a utility, water, electricity, gas, etc... Instead they want to control the flow of data so they can charge consumers extra for looking at different websites or block websites they dont want you to look at, this is the only reason these corporations are against net neutrality, it is because they want to squeeze more money out of you

If you voluntarily share private information with a third party, you no longer have a reasonable expectation of privacy in that information.

Sure there is competition. Google is rolling out their own fiber and Tesla wants to put a mesh network in the air to connect the Internet. The ISP is just a connection to the Internet.

If the government controls access to the Internet, then it won't be better, because then they will choose what gets on or doesn't based on the mood of congress. Look at what is allowed on broadcast television. Is that what you want? The government to only show PG-13 Internet?

If you voluntarily share private information with a third party, you no longer have a reasonable expectation of privacy in that information.

I am not talking about voluntarily, I am talking about the 4th Amendment of the US constitution. According to what Kavanaugh wrote in the article I shared, he believes the US government does not need a warrant to spy on and record Americans data. Why would you support a supreme court judge that does not follow the laws of the US constitution..?

Sure there is competition. Google is rolling out their own fiber and Tesla wants to put a mesh network in the air to connect the Internet. The ISP is just a connection to the Internet.

There is no guarantee any of this will happen, and even if it does there is no guarantee that those corporations will not try to take advantage of consumers and control the internet

If the government controls access to the Internet, then it won't be better, because then they will choose what gets on or doesn't based on the mood of congress.

That is not how it works, just because something is classified as a utility does not mean the government controls it as it pleases. It just means rules are created so those utilities are provided to all Americans equally. Electricity, water, gas, railroads, etc... those have all been classified as utilities by the government for almost 100 years and they work just fine...

"does not mean the government controls it as it pleases. It just means rules are created so those utilities are provided to all Americans equally"

You mean, like making sure radio stations played equal amount of time of both political parties. Yup, that worked well. The consumer preferred one side more than the other.

US government does not need a warrant to spy on and record Americans data.

I read the quote. It had to do with 3rd parties collecting that data.

Here is his full official statement, you will notice at the end he has concerns about the NSA or any government collecting data.
