If you have been around in at least an edgier political scene in the last year, even some sectors of Trumpism, you probably know censorship has become an issue. Long gone are the days where anything goes.

Facebook
Facebook seems to be at the forefront of screwing over it’s users. As you probably know, they screw you on the front end and on the backend. On the frontend nowadays, you can be censored very easily. Just today in the Myanmar Times it was reported that “Nationalist monks have accused Facebook of being unfair for demanding that they delete posts that allegedly spread hate speech.” They are Nationalist Monks. Jay Dyer, a Truth Movement type figure and Freeman Fly a Conspiracy guy have both reported that their accounts were suspended and or deleted.

On the backend, it has recently come to light that Facebook is or was selling user information to all sorts of people and orgs. This CNBC headline says a lot “Facebook gave data access to Chinese firm flagged by US intelligence.” Who knows where else user data goes.

Maybe you’re not convinced. I wanted on to help distribute my work. I, of course, wanted to keep my anonymity and to use my standard avis. As it turns out, if Facebook doesn’t like you, they will flag your picture or a user will. An ID will be required to get back into your account.

For this author’s money, Facebook is not a good time.

Twitter
I have been on Twitter the longest. It has the biggest user base compared to comparable services, those listed below and, it is mainstream. You can reach out and at least try to touch media and entertainment figures among others.

Twitter is a very specific platform. It doesn’t try to do everything for everyone. You can share with your friends, on topics and argue with whoever. It started as a free speech platform but it has now rolled your speech abilities way back. However, you won’t lose your account over most if not all political speech.

They have ads that adblocker plus will remove.

If you get kicked off of Twitter it can be hard to get back on if you so desired.

Gab
Gab is a “free speech” platform. There, the people you will find are largely like you and I, average users. With your speech everything does go. Gab also offers a paid tier membership, Pro that allows you some advantages such as extra-long posting and such.

Over the weekend, Gab introduced a new feature that makes replies to a post more like Reddit for the time being. The big difference is with that is now replies don’t circulate like posts.

Gab is planning if not already implementing a Token system. It is unknown when that will be fully realized.

Finally, Gab has a pretty diverse set of Right-wing users. Most of it’s users are probably right-wing in one way or another.

Minds
Minds is kind of a cross between a Twitter and a Facebook. It too has a free speech policy and you do not have to reveal your identity like on Facebook. Groups are a very strong selling point for Minds and most are still small enough to be cozy. Anyone can make groups and there are groups on everything from mining, gardening, conspiracy, music, comics, anime, anti-SJW and on and on.

Minds is tokenized but they are still taking measurements assumedly on how to distribute their tokens. Their tokens are Ethereum based.

Minds also has a file sharing system which I don’t think any of the other platforms do.

Right now, Minds is this authors platform of choice.

I’d stay away from them…
