Novichok, nukes, spooks, and a 73 year old scientist from Tiverton, England

Unless you've been asleep or living out your fantasies in a virtual world somewhere, you've probably heard about the Skripals, Salisbury and Novichok. For those that have not, I'll give you a quick synopsis.

Sergei Skripal was a Russian spy who for over 10 years acted as a double agent for the UK spy services until 2006 when he was convicted by the Russian courts of high treason and sentenced to 15 years in a Russian prison. He served 4 years before being released in 2010 as part of a spy swap program and was pardoned by the then president of Russia, Dmitry Medvedev. Following his release he bought a house in Salisbury, UK where he lived a quiet life until March 2018 when the Russian government decided to kill him using the deadly nerve agent Novichok.

The above synopsis is pretty much the official story according to the British Government and if you take it on face value it sounds plausible. Luckily, not all Brits are brainwashed and a few people have actually done some investigation and determined that the official story, much like the official story of 9/11 is bullshit.

There have been many articles published that have called the official story on the Salisbury poisoning into question but there are a couple of authors who I think have done a particularly good job. Once of them is Tom Secker who published two articles in quick succession which do a great job of using the information that was provided as part of the official story and used it to call into question the official story. I've been following Tom for quite a while and would highly recommend the book he wrote about 7/7 which tears the official story apart without the need to delve into any 'conspiracy theories'. It's called Secrets, Spies and 7/7. What Tom does is show you that the official story is either highly suspect or in some cases logically or physically impossible and he leaves it up to the reader to work out what actually happened.

Here's a link to the first article he wrote and here is the second.

Another constant thorn on the side of the British government throughout the Salisbury poisoning debacle has been Craig Murray. Here's a link to his website. If you scroll down you will see he has written quite a bit on the subject and the fact that he used to be the British Ambassador to Uzbekistan gives him an insight into the workings of the British government that other commentators often do not have.

So I've covered spooks and Novichok so now we come to the nukes and the 73-year-old man from Tiverton.

A few days ago I noticed a story that was being touted in all of the mainstream press in the UK. Here's the Telegraph newspaper version of the story. For those who don't want to leave Steemit/Steempeak/Busy to read the article, here's a brief outline.

The police were called to an address in Tiverton, England because there was some concern for the welfare of a woman at said address. While at the address, police officers said they felt unwell which led to specialist officers being called to the address. Items were seized from the address, an Explosive Ordnance Disposal team was called in and the owner of the property (73-year-old Chris Busby) was arrested and held in police custody before being released many hours later without charge.

Aside from the fact that Tiverton is only a short drive from my house, the part of the story that really caught my eye was as follows,

Mr Busby is a regular expert for Russian state-sponsored channel RT and has previously claimed Britain may be behind the Salisbury poisoning. The arrest is not thought to be connected to the nerve-agent attack on Russian double-agent Sergei Skripal.

After reading the story I thought I'd have a quick look at what information I could find about Chris Busby. Unsurprisingly the top result when I searched for "Chris Busby" was Wikipedia so I checked out the link below it which ended up being written by Chris to address the lies and misrepresentations that kept finding their way onto his Wikipedia page. Here'a a link to the website.

There is too much information on the site to try to summarise it here and I would highly recommend reading through his quite extensive background and achievements. To give you an idea, here's a screenshot from the contents page from the linked website above.

After I had spent an hour or so reading his site I decided to try to contact him using the contact information on the website. In my email, I asked whether he was ok and whether he thought what happened to him was done to punish him for questioning the government narrative on the Salisbury poisoning and I also asked if it would be possible to speak to him about his experiences and life. I told him that I blogged on Steemit and that it would be good to caputure his experiences and thoughts on the Steem blockchain which could not be censored.

I didn't expect to receive a reply to be honest as he was probably inundated with emails contact requests following the incident at his house that was reported all over the UK but I received short reply the following day saying the following.

ok thanks. they let me out eventually as i gave them a hard time. your analysis is correct.
i am happy to talk to you but you will have to take pot luck about when.
i am in uk right now, but off to france soon.

He also included his mobile number so I could call him but I didn't want to publish it for obvious reasons.

Since I live so close to Tiverton I think I'd prefer to speak to him in person and video the encounter so that it could be published on DTube or DLive but I've never conducted an interview before so not really sure where to go from here. What do I do? Give him a call and say, "Hi Chris, it's Jim, the random guy that contacted you by e mail, when can I come visit?"

Any advice anyone has would be appreciated. I've watched many great interviews being conducted by Steemians and perhaps someone would be open to the idea of helping me out and perhaps lending their expertise, even if this meant an interview needed to be carried out using webcams rather than in person. I think Chris has lots of interesting things to say, not just about Salisbury but about all sorts of topics (as you will see if you read through his many accomplishments).

That's it for now.

Thanks for reading.

Jim

One option would be to get 'The bases project' to interview him or their new project 'stepping stones' with a female interviewer. They operate in that part of the world. If you want to do it yourself, you only really need to have a decent camera mount/tripod, a decent camera with a lot of storage space and ideally either a room mic or a pair of lapel mics that you can mix somehow. Some people also have a separate audio recorder in the room in case of failure or just to use for a 2nd audio signal.

Lighting is also important, but if you do it near a bright window it should be fine.
