CARICATURE OF DEMOCRACY = CRIMINAL DICTATORSHIP- VENEZUELA

"There is a Constitution, sporadic elections are held, the Government is divided into the three classic Powers, a meticulous Declaration of Human Rights is proclaimed; structure of Government inspired by the Constitution of the United States, and Declaration of Human Rights inspired by the French one of 1879 with recent innovations of social tendency.

But each and every one of those democratic institutions is perverted in practice, in order to turn them into mere instruments at the service of the all-powerful will of a strong man who is usually the President of the Republic but may not be so by seasons. "It would seem a description quite successful of the regimes of Chavez and Maduro, although the "strong man" referred to Maduro can cause some laughter. But is not. It is something much before the recent dictatorships that hurt Venezuela.

In fact, it is the description that Jesús de Galíndez makes in his book "La Era de Trujillo" (Editorial Pacífico SA, Santiago de Chile, 1956), a book that by the way cost the life of its author, who by orders of the bloody Dominican dictator He was kidnapped in New York, taken to Santo Domingo, tortured and murdered, and then thrown into the sea to feed the sharks. And one wonders: What is the difference between doing that and kidnapping a man at the airport, taking him to Sebín's headquarters, torturing him to death and throwing him, already dead, from a tenth floor?

The result is exactly the same, and the rogue, the same. But what I want to emphasize is the fact that the traditional dictatorships, those of Trujillo, Somoza, Gómez, Pérez Jiménez, Odría, Rojas, Strössner, etcetera, those described by Galíndez, do not differ from those of Fidel Castro or Daniel Ortega or Evo Morales or Chavez or Maduro, but in addition to being corrupt and abusing power, despising democracy and disrespecting human rights, they ruin economies.

Those of the chafarotes, those to which Galíndez referred, in their majority implied some material progress for their countries, to a too great cost, yes, but the towns progressed, whereas with the new ones, that are still hypocrites and they try to deceive the world, without exception they have meant backwardness, hunger, poverty, like all the communist dictatorships of history. And, to make matters worse, it would seem that it is easier to overthrow a traditional dictatorship, of those, than one of the new ones.

It is as if the new ones were more afraid of them than of them. Democratic governments like they fear being accused of green bellies and blue guts if they act decisively and without complexes against the enemies of democracy that today punish the peoples. It is something like a complex of guilt that very few escape. It would seem that it is not elegant to openly manifest against these dictators. As if they were afraid of being accused of being reactionaries.

Well, it's time to shake off those complexes and understand that, whether traditional or new, all dictatorships are despicable and you have to take them forever off the road. The Venezuelan is no longer limited to harming the Venezuelan people, but is harming the peoples of Colombia, Brazil, Ecuador, Peru, Chile, Argentina and other countries of our hemisphere, including the United States. It is time for the rulers to put aside these fussiness and proceed. To great problems, great solutions. And the great solution is in sight, without complexes, without gazmoñerías. With everything.
