The War On War

in #informationwar5 years ago

I wish there was an actual war on war, but war is practically the only thing left we have not yet declared war on. And maybe kittens, babies... and a lot of other adorable stuff, but I think you get what I mean here.

Let's start with the real wars, you know, the ones involving us sacrificing our lifes and the lifes of our kids. Why do we still fight those wars? There isn't a western country in the world who's borders were invaded or are even threatened. We fight wars because, so we're told, we want to help bring democracy and peace to those unfortunate countries and peoples who suffer under the iron hand of some ridiculously evil dictator. We fight to spread democracy and freedom... We fight many of those real wars under the pretext of a fake one; the war on terrorism. Terrorism makes us angry, so we treat the countries who house these terrorists to a healthy dose of "shock and awe", and rob them of their natural resources for good measure. Remember: every war is about gaining access to strategic territories or natural resources.

The war on drugs; this one we've been gloriously losing since the day of its inception. In fact, all the drugs we fight against are selected, not on their harmfulness, but for political and economical reasons. Alcohol is still the world's most harmful drug yet legal everywhere. LSD, XTC and marijuana are some of the least harmful drugs, but worth a prison sentence when caught in the wrong place or time. Sure, alcohol was outlawed for a spell, America 1920 to 1933, but that was only because the nation's big oil interests were afraid for some healthy competition. Henry Ford's Model T could run just as well on alcohol fuels as on traditional gasoline. Drivers could switch between fuels by turning a switch next to the steering column. Ford actually had this vision that every farmer would have their own Model T and could use part of the land to grow their own fuel. Well, the oil industry wouldn't have it, and the prohibition was a result. Remember: we only fight for money, this is capitalism after all, a system in which economy is just "war by other means".

The war on cancer; again a fake one. This one hurts more though, as I've lost a lot of friends and family to this disease, my mother among them, and I'm sure we all share similar experiences as this disease is so damn widespread. It hurts because I know, although I can't prove it yet, I just know that diseases are only cured to the extent that it doesn't hurt the economy. And the cancer-industry is a large chunk of that economy. Most people believe that because illness costs society, it costs the economy. I wish that were true; just think how big a boost a simple car accident is for your country's economy. One accident, preferably a big one with some fatalities, calls into action hospitals, ambulances, insurance companies, lawyers, car repair men, mortuaries, grave diggers... should I go on? Such an accident is a pure blessing for your country's GDP. Now imagine if tomorrow a cure against cancer is found and ask yourself how many people such a cure would put out of work. Wait... scratch that (since when do we care about 'people'?): imagine how many owners of the Medical–industrial complex that would harm. If such a cure is found, chances are we'll never hear about it; it would be suppressed out of existence just like Henry Ford's vision of bio-fueled cars. The same goes for the real wars; they cost society, but makes the military-industrial complex's profits explode...

The only war I subscribe to is the war against war, and that one doesn't exist yet. So please join me, dear reader, in the only war worth fighting for. Whenever you hear someone mention one of the many wars we've involuntarily been dragged into, especially someone with a big platform or a politician, please point out to them the reality of every war; that they're carefully planned schemes to gain money and power for the rich and powerful. That wars are an extension of the economy, and vice-versa, and as such sacrifice the majority for the benefit of a tiny minority. That America, the Great White Knight Of The West, hasn't declared war since 1942, yet has been in armed conflict somewhere around the world for every day since. Literally EVERY day. It's time for the war against war; the one war to silence them all... Make Peace Great Again.

The capitalism always supress what might become free or cure something completely. War is something that does not bring anything good to the humanity.
