Reverend Black and his precious Polypus Anselmus
Another Inktober made in the midnight hours of yesterday, just touching the ninth of Oktober and therefore not cheating, whatever my daughter says.
The year is 1922 and Reverend Black has been in grave mental pain for a very long time after reading the abominable book of Charles Darwin. But years of research in the field of modern biology and numerous trips with the local New England fishermen to collect and study the weird creatures of the sea, has finally given him the graceful peace of heart that he has so longed for. A creature so special that it defies the ugly, barren theories of the British heretic, a creature that creates things that the reverend can only describe as miracles! He has named it, Polypus Anselmus, in honour of the holy Anselm of Canterbury and his ontological argument for the existence of God. He is so exited that he has not noticed the strange symbol that the rays of the sun has burned into his wooden table due to strange optical refraction created by the equally strange torrents in the jar.
The polyp is very, very precious to Reverend Black. He dreams about it every night now...

Just found it (Sunless Sea). Looks fascinating! Also a great title.
I have mixed feelings about the game, I start and stop it on and off. But the idea of Fallen London and the mix of the scientific and magic in a dark setting seems to mesh well.
