Inktober Day 8: Star - Starry-ish Night
Today's prompt is Star, and I straight away thought of Vincent Van Gogh's Starry Night.
I've been doing most of my Inktober art after the girls go to sleep, but today I got my stuff out in the afternoon, and the girls decided to join in, so these family art sessions could potentially be a daily thing for this month, and I love the sound of that :)
Most of the art supplies we have at home are my daughters', so I have to be resourceful with we have at home until I decide if I will be painting more regularly, and then I'll invest in proper equipment just for me ;)
For this, I used some charcoal first, and then painted over it, and then used pastels and sharpies and coloring pencils for more detail.
This is pretty much a bad knock off of "Starry Night" (hence the title) haha, but it was fun to make!

Messy and fun :) But you know my cheeky monkeys need a good outlet, so it's worth the mess!
I like this one a lot @redrica. What fun to have your children interested too.
My grandson likes to draw but he most like drawing over what I've done and, as he's only 3, it's often not that complimentary.
The best ones are when he starts and then I develop his scribbles. Sometimes he's able to fill in some spaces too.
And the really nice thing is he always wants to take them home to mummy so I don't end up with a load more art hanging around my house. 😂
Thanks @gillianpearce! I'm embracing the mess that comes with these sorts of activities, because it is such an enriching activity to do with them :)
