Treasure your books, they might save the world!

in #internet5 years ago

Long time ago I saw what I think was an episode of ‘The Twilight Zone’, anyway, it was about a future society in which people got knowledge downloaded directly into their brains and there was a boy with some genetic defect who couldn’t access the network. He was forced to read and in the end, when the network breaks down, he saves the world with information from dusty old books. Now, I’ve come to the conclusion old dusty books might save us anyway as the Internet is full of filth and continuously altered to promote certain agendas.
I know this isn’t exactly new, but up to know I didn’t realize just how much crap there is out there. As you might have noticed from my blog, over the past weeks I’ve been busy writing a series on Hollywood legends, which, naturally, implies a lot of research.
Now, the first place you go to is Wikipedia. Everybody does that and, for the most part, you do get information, lots of dates and facts, because some people took the time to upload them there, so we can share knowledge. But then, there are the other,s the creeps who have nothing better to do than alter facts to retrospectively support their narratives. And add crappy references no one bothers to check, but they do make an article seem legit.
Reading about movie stars of the past I was astonished to discover how many were lesbian or bisexual. According to Wikipedia, of course. Personally, I couldn’t care less if any or all of them were gay. Good for them, what can I say!? What I do have a problem with is the LGBT agenda such alterations of the truth are meant to promote.

I must have been very young when I first heard about the love story between Katharine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy, but then Wikipedia gives us the information they were both gay and their affair was nothing but a smokescreen to cover their sexual orientation. Alright, then! Now, as a former journalist I do have this habit of checking sources, particularly when something is odd. One of the references linked the Larry King special show on the day Hepburn died. You don’t have to be particularly bright to know Larry King would not include that sort of talk in a tribute, still I went over the transcript to see if there was any gay mention. Bloody obviously not!
One reference that appears on many Hollywood related pages is a certain book by a guy named Scotty something who boasts of having procured male or female prostitutes to the stars, who were basically all of them gay or bisexual. As were Edward VIII and Wallis Simpson, who one day came to the gas station where this Scotty dude worked, asking him to help them fulfill their gay fantasies. The claims in this book are so extravagant no one in their right minds would accept them as true. I know some celebrities of the past were indeed gay and had to hide their orientation, but don’t tell me they were all gay. (I haven’t found any transgender yet!)
Today I was writing something on Charlie Chaplin and I found out his movie ‘The Great Dictator’ was ‘controversial’, the reference link pointing to a theatre program for the musical ‘Mamma Mia!’ FFS! Why in God’s name would they write about a Chaplin movie in a program for an Abba show? What sort of reference is that?! What's next? An interesting conversation you had in the elevator with your neighbor who knows for sure Mother Theresa was in fact a three-legged alien in disguise!? Fat Joe on the eigth floor is as good a reference as any.
Point is I got so fed up with this sort of crap I just created an account on Wikipedia and edited out some of this rubbish with improper references. It’s not that I’m against things that don’t fit with my own narrative, but it just pisses me off to see crap served as verified information. After all, deleting a dubious paragraph takes less time than writing it in.
It’s not just the LGBT agenda, the white privilege warriors are doing their bit attacking those perceived as racist. Practically, pages that should contain information about some personality have been hijacked by SJWs and filled with vile attacks. The problem is we are still able to see propaganda for what it is, but future generations don’t stand a chance. History will be whatever the Internet tells them it is! Hence the title of this post, take good care of your books!

Thanks for reading

Well done @ladyrebecca! You're a truth warrior for sure. Keep up the amazing work, please! :)

I'm no warrior, it's a question of decency and common sense. Thanks for the resteem!

I have seen a lot of this as well over the years. Not just with the agenda you mention, but all kinds of topics for many reasons. Anytime one begins looking for information on controversial subjects (which yours wasn't) the claims are all over the board. I assume to discredit and confuse as it allows those up to no good to point fingers and laugh at those crazy conspiracists.

The push to sexualize children has also included this slant of propaganda. It's frightening so many aren't up in arms over what they are pushing on the children.

Speaking of controversial subjects, the Marilyn Monroe page makes no mention of the Kennedys, just a brief reference to 'conspiracy theories'.

I'm not surprised. She has been revived here in the states believe it or not. There is a whole line of shirts and posters and such with her wearing a bandana. It is huge with a segment of the biker crowd among others.

The Kennedys are somewhat considered royalty here, although given the state of the Democrat party they would not have been so tolerant of JFK if he was here today. He was more levelheaded than most of the so called conservatives are today. But, they have erected him and his family into something that they would prefer not to taint with the idea they had faults like all of us.
