The Dark Side of the Web

Internet was on a rise in the mid-to-late 1990s, it came to a global scale where everyone used it to communicate around the world, for some the internet was nothing special and they thought that it will never gonna achieve anything, but for others, they have been telling people that every big or small business company would be on the internet and they were right, today without the internet it's really hard to open a business and brand it, it will take a lot of time because you gonna be using other market techniques that are old fashioned.

It is very important to know that whatever you do and say online can and, in many cases, will be tracked, recorded, and traceable back to you. And that's how the idea of a dark web become a reality.

In the mid 1990s a group of people wanted to protect their privacy while they are surfing online, that group of people was the United States federal government. A team of computer scientists and mathematicians created a dark web browser known as TOR while you are using it you are going into a overlay network. Overlay network is build on a network and its a great tunnel to hide your IP address, fingerprints and a lot more.

Why would USA government release a dark web?
Well it's very simple, USA FBI & CIA agents were using the internet to mask themselves as normal internet users while they were trying to catch criminals, terrorists and similar activity. But they were not able to do that if they were the only who would be using the Dark Web, they had to put public so when majority of people use it, the government agents would have been well masked and continue to expose criminal activities on the dark web.

Deep web: Academic information, medical records, legal documents etc.
Dark web: Illegal information, TOR-Encrypted sites, drug trafficking sites, private communications.
