My journey to Steemit; My Introductory Post

I was on a regular routine on Facebook some few days ago looking for some posts that could make me engage in, when a friend of mine @kaybiel4u who I can call a Steemit promoter wrote some catchy stuff about Steemit. He explained everything in a more concise and coherent way that even people with no formal education would understand. Initially, I thought he was among those who sweet talk people to get something from them but I was wrong when I Google search Steemit and what I found out was mind blowing, educative as well as informative. Then I said, I must join this social media to contribute my own in making the platform more educative and informative. That was what led me to Steemit.Thanks to @kaybiel. I want to make an indelible mark on Steemit if time permits me. I want to learn more on Cryptocurrency and Bitcoin, I want to have them as my experience on Steemit as Steemit is filled with utopian of knowledge which must be gained and be shared as well.

WHAT CAN I DO?
I am a graduate of computer science and a logo designer and I can mess around with little code, I can debug codes, core java codes, I am learning android development at the moment. I love photography, discussion about bitcoin and programming, and logo design being my area of core competency I hope to design logos that will wow lots of steemians. I am looking forward to seeing myself at the top here in no time. Thanks for your time taken to read my journey to steemit and do remember to welcome me more by dropping comments in the reply box.

    Hello tecoky2u! Welcome to Steemit! Hope you'll like the community here. As a start, here are 5 tips that we believe will be helpful to you:

    1. Keep your passwords safe: Unlike conventional sites, Steemit has 4 types of passwords. Each offers varying degrees of access to your account, so know where and when to use each of them. Also, make sure to keep them all safe and secure.
    2. Get Steem rewards: When writing a post, you'll have the option to choose how to receive your reward: "Default 50%/50%" or "Power Up 100%". As of this moment, choosing Default 50%/50% is the better option. But this can change over time. Check our post to know more.
    3. Upvote wisely: When upvoting, wait at least 30 minutes after the post is published to maximize your curation reward. Also, make sure not to upvote too much too fast so as not to drain your voting power.
    4. Know your Steem, Steem Dollars and Steem Power: Steem and Steem Dollars are the 2 main currencies here. Convert and power up more Steem into Steem Power so you can have higher values on your upvotes.
