Introduction

Vague Entertainment was founded in 2012 as a project oriented gaming, and application studio based in North Central Texas. The company, was and still is, dedicated to the FOSS and Creative Commons ideals. At its height of the company Vague Entertainment had 8 contributors, but due to insufficient funding, and life's little struggles, the company has but one contributor still remaining.
However, this is not the end of the story. Ben Flanagin continued to work on the projects that his company began. Under the Vague Entertainment banner he created several games: RogueBots,Num-Nom,Vola-tile, and Engage to name a few. All of which are available for both desktop and mobile platforms. Along with games he has created numerous applications, some spanning years of development, and others only a week. These applications run the gambit from office utilities to social networking platforms and are all in some state of active development. The story of Vague Entertainment is really the story of @bflanagin, but with STEEM and its community that is about to change.

The Pitch

Account goals:

• To educate: This Account will post tutorials on how to create applications, games, and utilities based around and for the STEEM and IPFS services. As time goes on we will be able to take requests for tutorials, but at first the series will be largely based on the contributors experience. The account will also resteem any tutorial that is posted on steem if it fits in with the accounts main narrative.

• To Inform: Spreading the word about a project is hard. the @v-entertainment account will resteem projects that fit a set criteria. We will be posting about the criteria and what tags to use in a future post.

• To reward: We would like to find ways to reward posts that we find interesting or of value to both STEEM, and to the gaming/application development communities as a whole. We'll have contest from time to time if the STEEM is available so stay tuned.

• To promote: Vague Entertainment will continue to create software and will use this account to promote its own work as well as the projects we have resteemed or followed..

How

1. Building the base, creating the first tutorials, setting the rules and criteria for rewards / resteems, and the usual host of other things required.

2. Setting up a witness. As some of you are aware witnesses are the backbone of the STEEM network, without them the block chain is unable to function. However they do a lot more than just give up computing power for you and I, they help guide the network from fork to fork, and are given a reward in the form of SP for their time and computer cycles. Given that the success of STEEM is a large part of Vague Entertainments future it only seems right that it be a part of the process.

3. On-boarding new contributors. Nothing great can be accomplished alone, so as time passes we hope to add more "staff" to the system. How this will look, is still not known, but we will post about it when we get to that point.

#What about Utopian-io

First and foremost I can not express my appreciation for the people over at @utopian-io. It was the mention of their platform that led me to STEEM in the first place, and it is their moderators that have helped me become a better member of the open source community. I have no desire to compete with Utopian-io or what they are doing.

However, where their goals are universal, and extremely important to the continued existence of many free software projects, @v-entertainment's goal is much, much smaller in scope. Like many other curation projects on STEEM we hope to pick a niche and focus on providing content and value add to that aspect of the experience. We will of course provide any project with the needed information to start working with Utopian or any other service that will help their project be a success.

Why not use your own account?

If you follow me (@bflanagin) you will quickly realize my interests are legion, and I use STEEM as my personal blog. Though this is great for many reasons it is not supposed to be a professional ever cohesive thread. To follow me is to know me, at least in part, and @v-entertainment is meant to separate the self from the work. I do hope you would at least consider following both accounts, but keep in mind the almost omnipresent disclaimer
