Monomad Irish Stone

Monomad Stone Steps

Continuing the Irish theme I photographed these steps in the garden of Bantry House. This black and white version is my entry to @brumest's daily monomad competition.

I love the tiny ferns that are growing in the cracks between the stones, and the lichen.

Great reminder that nature still does its own thing, even when we try to tame it. Lovely photo!

A great option for a monomed contest. The steps look very epic. How many saw they for their existence.

Love the black and white photo. This also gives a bit of "moral to the story" vibe. Be like those ferns fighting to reach the sunlight and air to survive

Ha, ha, ha. You have a very creative mind @the-witty-waiter. Thanks for stopping by. 😊

Beautiful. Love to see tiny ferns growing ~ Softening the edges of stone.

Thank you @allyinspirit. Good to "see" you around.

How's things? 😍

Pleasure. Loving our winter ~ Visually. Chilly at night and finally the rain came.

Hope you have been enjoying your summer. Having a day in the bushland tomorrow ~ Gardening. A welcome break from being at the DDG all day, to end up producing only one image.

Will be back soon. 🙏

We're having a wonderful summer here @allyinspirit. If anything, it's a little too hot for my liking. 27.5C in the house at night. 😱 That's pretty rare for end of June/beginning of July. Your "chilly at night" sounds wonderful right now.

I went to the beach yesterday but had to come home after an hour as it was simply too hot.

It doesn't seem a moment ago I was posting photographs of snow!

Have a wonderful day in the bushland. 😍

gotta like the detail in those stones.

glad you did @jfolkmann. Thank you for visiting. 😊

very nice monochromatic. patterns always look good in b&w and the ferns and lichen make it interesting. Good photo :)

Thank you @steven-patrick. I agree patterns are good in black and white. There needs to be some strong definition otherwise it doesn't seem to work well.

It's quite difficult to find photographs that look good in the feed in black and white. Overall I would say my monochrome ones do less well than others. 😢
