What an Amazing Week for Israel!

in #israel6 years ago (edited)

What an extra-ordinary week or so its been for Israel!
So many extraordinary achievements in such a short space of time.

  • Last but not least - Winning the EuroVision Song Contest!
  • US Embassy moving to Jerusalem (tomorrow actually) - Actually this is bigger than Eurovision.
  • Trump withdrawing from Iran Deal (Bibi is vindicated!)
  • Iran's 20 rocket attack on Israel: FAIL!!
  • Israel's counter attack: BIG SUCCESS!!
  • Mossad steals half a ton of Iran's secret nuclear files.
  • Bibi stands with Putin at Moscow Victory parade while Israel pummels Iran's bases in Syria.
  • Day before US President cites Israel's intelligence coup in major US foreign policy shift

How has Israel managed to have a special relationship and great respect with the US and Russia at the same time (when they are at loggerhead with each other)?

Amazing stuff!
Lets be appreciate of our good fortune and pray that the good times continue.

Sort:

Celebrating the bombing of innocent civilians? The destruction of freedom and privacy is spiraling out of control, largely with technology being developed and implemented out of these scenarios, and you want to 'let the good times roll'?

This is rhetorical.

Iranian military bases in Syria are not innocent civilians. Innocent civilian installations don't have secondary explosions like a fireworks factory or cause 2.3 richter scale earthquakes to be measured hundreds of kilometers away!
Israel hits only legitimate military targets.
If a terrorist puts a missile in a civilian home it loses its civilian status - it becomes a missile base and legitimate military target.
If a terrorist inspired mob uses violence to attack a border fence they are NOT civilians, they are combatants.

Who is a terrorist it's a matter on which side you are, treat it as side note.
And sorry but believing that any country nowadays, which runs military actions, "hits only legitimate military targets", is naive...

Its very easy to make such ridiculous statements when you don't have to live with the consequences, because brave men and women, police and soldiers of whatever nation you are living in are defending you from terrorist monsters.

If you really believe what you said, then I suggest you go live with Hamas or what's left of ISIS and find out how far your naive moral equivalence argument gets you.

You are emotional here, nothing strange since you probably live there. For sure if we ask anyone from other side of the wall, he / she will tell as well about brave men and women etc.
The fact that I don't live there makes me not ridiculous but simply not emotionally engaged into whole affair.
I didn't tell you that Hamas or ISIS is not a terrorist group. I simply tell you that it depends on whom you ask. If you ask me, those are terrorists. And yeah I believe that any nation nowadays, military active, hits only legitimate targets.

Ok you can call people attacking a fence combatants. However the only answer to them is sharp amo? You live in very hot point, maybe the hottest one on our planet :/

Israel uses plenty of non-lethal methods and has consistently warned Gazans to stay away from the fence with leaflet drops etc.

If they get through the fence they will murder every Israeli they find and destroy everything - they even destroyed their own fuel lines!

Ultimately lethal force must be used when other methods fail.
US police use lethal force every day in far less threatening situations, as do those in other countries.

I don't agree with you and there is no point in arguing. I hope that nothing will ever happen to you or your family. Take care and thanks for discussion.

....I don't think you are being entirely serious , are you?

😂

Well, giving the Eurovision win pride of place in a list of geo-strategic triumphs IS a bit tongue in cheek.
I think a lot of Israelis are more excited about Eurovision though. :-)
