Cosa vi viene in mente pensando ai laghi? Personalmente mi vengono in mente tante cose e tutte positive, come ad esempio: natura, acqua, relax, pesci e montagna.

Bene, per questo post tenete soltanto a mente queste belle parole, perché il lago di cui sto per parlarvi è singolare, anche troppo, e non ne contempla molte di quelle che vi ho elencato in precedenza.

Il Lago Chagan, o Balapan, si trova in ****Kazakistan** è un lago che fino al 15 gennaio 1965 non esisteva, deve la propria nascita ad un test nucleare effettuato dall'Unione sovietica, l'esplosione sotterranea della testata nucleare fu nove volte maggiore di quella che venne sganciata sulla la città di Hiroshima, ed è proprio per questo motivo è stato soprannominato il Lago Atomico.*

Il cratere creato dall'esplosione ha un diametro di 450 metri ed è profondo 100 metri, con una capienza di 100.000 m³ d'acqua. Il Governo Kazako lo ha dichiarato "agibile" ed ora è possibile nuotare al suo interno o addirittura pescare (si possono trovare al suo interno diverse specie di piccoli pesci, apparentemente normali), nonostante la sua radioattività sia maggiore di una ventina di volte rispetto ai limiti di sicurezza e 100 volte più radioattiva della normale acqua potabile. Secondo alcuni studiosi, fermarsi vicino al lago per periodi di tempo limitati non dovrebbe essere dannoso per la salute.

Per farvi un'idea potete dare un'occhiata a questo video realizzato nel 2012 da Carl Willis, ingegnere nucleare ad Albuquerque (New Mexico) e fate attenzione all'intensità finale del suono del suo Misuratore di radioattività, che, da che mondo è mondo, più veloce suona peggiore è il risultato.

Impressionante vedere David Farrier nel programma TV Dark Tourist che dopo aver mangiato dei pesci alla griglia, pescati nello stesso lago, ed aver bevuto un paio di bicchierini di Vodka di troppo, ci si getti dentro lasciandosi trascinare dal suo compagno momentaneo di viaggio, che potrei definire un "fanatico di luoghi radioattivi", per poi chiedersi successivamente a mente fredda se avesse o meno fatto un gesto intelligente.

La coppia improvvisata del programma televisivo si reca al Lago assieme ad una guida turistica che li rassicura, davvero sconvolgente sentirlo dire che possono tranquillamente fare il bagno senza andare troppo in fondo al lago perché è più nucleare e che il soprannome del lago è "soltanto un soprannome".

Visto il modo di fare di questa malcapitata guida turistica, la mia impressione è che gli venga imposto cosa dire da qualcun altro, mi riesce davvero difficile credere che al giorno d'oggi un adulto possa avere un'ignoranza tale da non essere a conoscenza della pericolosità ed i conseguenti danni che sono in grado di portare all'uomo, ma non soltanto, le radiazioni nucleari.

Anche se, ad essere sincero, in realtà è fatto più che noto che alcuni Stati abbiano Governi o Regimi riescono a tenere all'oscuro le proprie popolazioni su nozioni o fatti che desiderano non far venire a galla e gli è possibile farlo con diverse modalità e per scopi differenti.

What comes to your minds thinking about lakes? Personally I think about many positive things, such as: nature, water, relax, fish and mountains.

Well, for this post you have to forget about those beautiful word, because the lake I'm talking about is really singular, and doesn't contemplate many of that I mentioned before.

Chagan Lake, or Balapan, is located in Kazakhstan, is a lake that didn't exist until January 15, 1965, it owes its birth to a nuclear test by the Soviet Union, the underground explosion of the nuclear bomb was nine times bigger compared to that one of Hiroshima City, and that is why was nicknamed the Atomic Lake.

The crater created by the explosion has a diameter of 450 meters and is 100 meters deep, with a capacity of 100,000 m³ of water. The Kazakh Government has declared it "accessible" and it is possible to swim or even fish, despite its radioactivity being more than twenty times greater than the safety limits and 100 times more radioactive than normal drinkable water. For some scientist opinion, stopping near the lake for limited periods of time should not be dangerous for humans health.

To geive you an idea you can watch this video made in 2012 by Carl Willis, nuclear engineer in Albuquerque (New Mexico) and pay attention to the final intensity of the sound of its radioactivity meter, which usually faster it sounds worst is the result.

Impressive to see David Farrier in the TV program Dark Tourist that after eating grilled fish caught in the lake and drinking a couple of glasses of Vodka go inside the lake to swim, together with his momentary traveling companion, that I could call a "fanatic of radioactive places", after that he ask himself if was an intelligent gesture.

The improvised television program duo goes to the lake together with a tour guide that reassures them, really upsetting to hear from him that they can safely swim without going too deep into the lake because it is much nuclear and that the nickname of the lake is "just a nickname".

Considering the way of doing of this tourist guide, my impression is that it is imposed what to say from someone else, I can not really believe that nowadays an adult can have the ignorance such as not to be warned about the danger and the consequent damages that are able to bring to the man, and not only, nuclear radiations.

To be completely honest, in reality it's public domain that some States Governments or Regimes manage to keep their populations in the dark about concepts or facts that they want to stay secrets and it is possible to do this in different ways and for different purposes.
