I must say that one of the first memories of when I was a child is that I spent hours watching my father and his friends who, in the evening, used to play cards.

Without making much distinction between the various games they played.

After all, what attracted me was the world in which they were lost. And they played as if they were really in a battlefield.

I ignored, that a few streets away from my house, in the back of a bar, poker was alternated with fog nights and women who accompanied alcohol.

They say that sometimes the weapons were used in that bar, and some say that some people escaped abroad after losing more than they could pay.

But I discovered these things only when I grew up, while I was losing myself during the various games.

Then, a few days ago, I entered in the world of Steem Momdters, I only know the basic things but I think I have understood it: the cards are the game and the stakes.

A bit like the first Chinese cards, that they can take you to the victory but thet are also the tool for contention.

I find this illusory alternation like a sort of a maze, so, while I am intent on drawing a character with ink, I am lost in the dream of a game session where one of the cards is a character I created, and maybe I will win.

Devo dire che uno dei primi ricordi di quando ero bambino è che passavo ore a guardare mio padre e i suoi amici che, di sera, si ritrovavano per giocare a carte.

Senza fare tanta distinzione fra i vari giochi ai quali prendevano parte a dire la verità.

In fondo quello che mi attraeva era il mondo in cui si perdevano. E dove li potevo veder litigare come se a dividerli ci fosse un campo di battaglia.

Ignaro per altro, che a poche vie di distanza da casa mia, nel retro di un bar, il poker si alternava alle notti di nebbia e alle donne che accompagnavano l'alcol.

Dicono che non siano state risparmiate le armi in quel bar e, qualcuno racconta che c'è chi è scappato all'estero dopo aver perso più di quanto poteva pagare.

Ma queste cose le ho scoperte solo crescendo, mentre anche io mi perdevo fra i vari giochi.

Poi, qualche giorno fa, sono entrato nel mondo di steemmonsters, conosco ancora poche cose ma una credo di averla capita: le carte sono il gioco e la posta in palio.

Un po' come le prime carte cinesi, che erano la vincita e lo strumento per la contesa.

Trovo questa illusoria alternanza una sorta di labirinto, così, mentre sono intento a disegnare un carattere con l'inchiostro, mi son perso nel sogno di una sessione di gioco dove una delle carte è un personaggio da me creato, e che forse ho vinto.
