Dei Egizi/Egyptian Gods - Bastet

in #ita6 years ago (edited)

Ancient Egyptians and their religion has always been one of my favourite topics ever since I was a child, so I decided to pay homage to them by making a series of simple paintings, one for each antique God.

The first is Bastet (or Bast), goddess of the women, cats, fertility, and protector of homes. She is depicted with the body of a woman and the head of a feline, either a lioness or a common cat. Worshipped thru every period of the ancient Egypt, and often summoned to heal from illnesses, epidemics and dark spirits.

Sort:

Ecco perché ora ne ho 2 in casa. Almeno mi proteggono :D
