It has been a long time ago when I wrote my last post about In The Paint, but today I feel like I need to write about basketball and my love for this sport.
Some days ago I watched something that I did not believe that could happen: a Phoenix was walking on the parquet of an Arena.
DERRICK ROSE was the Phoenix!

E' passato molto tempo da quando ho scritto il mio ultimo post per la rubrica In The Paint, ma oggi sento la necessita di scrivere di pallacanestro e dell'amore per questo sport
Alcuni giorni fa vidi qualcosa che non credevo potesse accadere: una Fenice stava camminando sul parquet di un campo da basket.

Probably only NBA fans would know his history and who Rose is.
During 2011 NBA Season at the age of 22 he became the youngest player to receive the MVP at the end of the regular season (with Curry and Iverson). He wore a jersey with numer 1 and Adidas believed in him like a symbol of lightness, power and strength. He touched the sky with a finger.
But...
his body and his knee were not so strong and the injuries hit him like a machine gun. He lost his feeling with the basketball and the court and everytime he came back he lost against himself and against his weaknesses. He tried to rise again but he did not find the right way to be a main character in NBA season. He lived wth the shade of himself.
Then he joined the Minnesota Timberwolves, where there was (is) Tom Thibodeau: he was Derrick's coach when he played in Chicago in 2011.

Pers il suo feeling con la palla da basket e con il campo ed ogni volta che tentò di tornare perdeva contro se stesso e contro le sue debolezze. Cercò di risorgere, ma non trovò il modo giusto per tornare ad essere un protagonista nella stagione NBA, Viveva all'ombra di se stesso.
Poi si è unito ai Minnesota Timberwolves, la squadra allenata da Tom Thibodeau: fu l'allenatore di Derrick nel 2011 a Chicago.

Rose has found old feelings in Minnesota and some days ago he found again his lost talent: against the Utah Jazz he scored 50 points.
A great night for him.
That meant something like a revange against his bad luck and his injuries.
He cried when a journalist interviewed him at the end of the game and he showed all of his feelings, all his pains, alla of his fears. This year Minnesota will not have a great season, because the GM Scott Layden should come to an end with Butler and his trade. However this is a good opportunity for Rose to come back!
A great night for him.

Bellissimo articolo, avrei voluto scrivere anche io qualcosa su questa bella storia di un campione che nasceva mvp e stava morendo sulla via di troppi infortuni.

Non si diventa MVP per caso: è la mentalità, il duro lavoro, il credere in se stessi che rendono un giocatore tale. Gli infortuni condizionano l'atleta, non il cuore di un uomo!!!

Vista la gioia e l'entusiasmo con cui hai realizzato questo post, mi auguro che questo giocatore possa fare una bellissima stagione cestistica, complimenti per la bella storia raccontata
Grazie Mad! Un momento di sole è apparso sul cielo di Minnesota, poi sembra essere calato nuovamente il buio: Rose si è infortunato alla caviglia. Forse niente di ché, ma con questo giocatore è sempre bene prendere tutto con le pinze.

Un altro infortunio, accidenti, non ne esce più questo giocatore dal tunnel della sfiga nera!!
La NBA è una battaglia tra montagne di muscoli: purtroppo spesso il potenziamento muscolare viene portato avanti a discapito di legamenti e tendini, che con 82 partite all'anno piú i playoff, alla fine chiedono il conto. Non a caso chi ha un gioco piú logorante ha inevitabilmente una carriera piú difficoltosa. Giocatori piú "puliti" riescono a tutelare il fisico per piú anni.

82 partite all'anno più play-off, certo, sono sforzi nettamente diversi, con turn-over più alti, ma bisognerebbe far presente ai calciatori questi numeri, che si lamentano sempre per quello che riguarda il loro alto carico di impegni.....
As a lifelong Chicago Bulls fan, I spent several years rooting for Derrick Rose, also he is a hometown Chicago native. Rose and Butler had a pretty good run for awhile, before all the injuries. I didn't catch his 50 point game, but I'm glad that he is getting his mojo back. I think the Bulls came out on top in trading Butler for Lavine. He's not doing Tibbs or the Wolves any favors.
