SeanyTravels (Japan-Fukuoka) #20 Marinoa City and Beautiful Notre Dame Malinois
We are almost towards the end of our first Fukuoka Travel series 😔
Let's visit Marinoa City Fukuoka!
No one checked in to this location on Steemitworldmap, so I would assume Steemians have not checked out this place before.
It was a really hot and sunny day, so after taking the bus for about 25 minutes from Hakata station, we quickly scampered off into the shopping mall. I would say that this place is not very popular, but you can see from its style that it's might actually be for Tourist Outlet shopping.
We were quite hungry, so we visited a Western Diner before starting on our adventure.
We were allowed infinite pink lemonade refills, and that was refreshing!
We ordered a plate of Carbonara, and Pepperoni pizza. With infinite drinks and triangular breads, we were stuffed to the brim.
After such a heavy lunch, we walked around the mall. To be honest, carbohydrates + hot weather = food coma. We took a rest along the comfy couches.
It was quite a normal mall, quite small. Outside there was a larger warehouse style sports shop, something like Decathlon, so we just took a short visit there too.
We left the shopping areas and headed over to the shoreline. This is how Marinoa City Fukuoka looks like from further away. It was quite empty that day with such an empty carpark.
It seems that there are many styles of western architecture in Fukuoka.
We actually wanted to visit this place just for Marinoa City, and did not about the existence of the Notre Dame Malinois. So this was a pleasant surprise.
It's built really close to the waters, and makes for a really nice scenic shot.
Unfortunately, the church was closed that day and we were not able to enter to see. It would have been such a sight if a wedding were held that day. Being located beside the beach would have made this an awesome choice for a wedding.
Actually, I went to do more research on this church, and it seems that IT IS a prime spot for weddings!
Again, we arrived just in time to take a sunset shot!
I used the same photo as the front cover here again. Can you spot the 'day moon' in the distance?
Overall, if you're just here to see the main attractions of Fukuoka then you might want to skip this place. It's sort of like outlet shopping. Unless you are here to attend a wedding, there might not be too much to do here!

Was going to say there's probably a reason why no one has pinned Marinoa City on the map..... until I saw Notre Dame Malinois. Though I'm not sure I would make a trip there just to see it, so it's good you've shown us ^_^
theres really almost nothing much to do at Marimoa city! But maybe things have changed in the past year. I saw some stuff under renovation. But at least there's still an arcade there ahaha
It waa fortunate for me theres the Church there, otherwise I might have 'wasted' a bus ride down.
At least it's saved me a trip if I ever head out to Fukuoko.
hehe I think many other places more worth to go in Fukuoka! If you have time to travel out much further, I really recommend Huis Ten Bosch, superrrr place!
