(JP/EN) メルボルンはアートの街 ～ The abandoned Great Stairway Drain in Melbourne
皆さん、こんにちは。オーストラリアの中で一番イギリス色が強い都市はメルボルンですが、実はアートの都市でもあります。今日は日本ではなかなか見ることのできない珍しい用水路を紹介したいと思います。
｢The Great Stairway Drain｣と呼ばれるメルボルンで一番有名な用水路のほんの一部を先日、探索しました。全長1.7kmの用水路の入口や内部(一部) にカラフルなペイントがしてあり、見ているだけで楽しくなります。
なお、この用水路は現在は使われていません。それに、このように現在使われていない用水路の中を探検することは禁止されているようです。
たとえ探検できたとしても、用水路の中は暗いので懐中電灯が必要です。あと、体を曲げないと歩けないくらい狭い部分、また雨水が溜まっている部分もあるので、気軽に歩くことはできません。靴も滑らないものを履かないといけませんし、洞窟を探検する時のように、それなりの重装備が必要になります。
なお、オーストラリアには現在使われていない用水路が100以上あるそうです。どこの用水路もきっとカラフルにペイントされているんだろうなと思いますが、ネットで調べてもあまり詳しい情報が載っていなくて残念です。
用水路を探検することが法律で禁止されているので、情報がほとんどないのもしょうがないですね。

Hi, Steemians. Australia is well known for their kangaroos, koalas and Aboriginal boomerangs. But did you know it is also notorious within the urbex community for their drains? The drains are everywhere under the Australian cities. These underground drains carry out the canalization of rain water, completely separated from sewer networks.
There are over 100 drains throught Australia, each with their own unique features and paths. Unfortunately drain exploration is prohibited, we are not allowed to walk through drains.
" The Great Stairway Drain'' is located in a suburb of Melbourne is probably my most favourite drain out of all of them. It was 1.7km walk (about 1 mile in). I hope you will enjoy the photos that I took while walking along this beast. However I am afraid of dark and didn't bring a flashlight along. I wasn't ready to get into the abandoned drain. Then I ended up giving up exploration!

いいですねー😁 日本では"落書き"で片付けられがちだけど...上手なものは好きだったりします。用水路歩き、ワクワクします。
オーストラリアには、ただの落書きでなくアートとしての落書きが、そこら中にあります。そのうち、アートの落書きをブログに投稿してみようと思ってます。あと、今日色々調べてわかったのですが、用水路を歩くことはとても危険なので禁止されているそう。残念！(><)

Exploring in abandoned drains is banned in Australia. That's why I didn't know very much about drains. My son is a part of urbex and we went to the drain to take some photos together. :D
Unbelievable, you seem so young to me and I thought you were in your late 20s or early 30s.
Still, an elegantly young and energetic mom doing things with son, what a close family.
Hahaha.. I have 3 kids and all of them go to high school. Perhaps I'm much older than you. My son holds a learner licence, he drove me to the spot for driving lesson. Learner drivers are required to complete 120 hours of surpervised driving lesson here. :)
Taking care of 3 kids and a husband around the clock has definitely been a challenging but rewarding “job” to do, the CEO of the house.
I’m almost 40 and have a kid still going to primary school. A long way to go for me. Recently he’s been getting very lippy with me (a way to present his critical thinking, I guess?).

@prch san, I'm older than you. All of my kids are teenagers now, they can look after themselves more and more. However, parenting teens can be sometimes a hard work and exhausting! :(

アートの街っていいですね。歩くのがたのしくなりそうです。
メルボルン市内にはアーティスト達が好んで住むエリアがあるんですよ。いつかメルボルンのアートについて調べてブログに投稿しますね！^^
使われていない用水路を歩く！やってみたいです。最後の階段の写真はちょっと怖いですけど、探検気分を味わえそうですね。
それが調べていくうちに、使われていない用水路を歩くことは危険なので禁止されていることがわかりました。探検したかった～！(>_<)
海外のコンクリートのアートと言えばやっぱりこのアートなんやね。
賑やかでPOPだし楽がきとは違うねw

メルボルンには普通の落書きもあるけど、こういうPOPな落書きも多いんよ～！見てるだけで楽しくなるよ！^^
