"Viva Boma by Cos" (1976)

in #jazz5 years ago (edited)

Cos was a Belgian progressive jazz rock band, founded by guitarist and flutist Daniel Schell in the 1970s. Regular members were: bassist Alain Goutier, keyboardist Charles Loos, and vocalist Pascale Son (pseudonym of Pascale de Trazegnies). Each album of the group has its own sound, however, the band's style fits into jazz rock; also you can see in his musical proposal, the sound of the Canterbury scene and the music Zeuhl ... Viva Boma was the second band album, released in 1976, in which you can hear strong influences of bands from the Canterbury scene of which we can highlight: Caravan, Hatfield and the North and Gilgamesh ... the voice of Pascale Son gives the work a calm and melancholy feeling, which makes it more accessible to the public who enjoys especially The sounds of jazz fusion. Viva Boma communicates musically through a hypnotic and cryptic language that asks to be deciphered ... =)
