🇬🇧 She herself sees her role models in Chet Baker and Louis Amstrong, while the critics compare her to Norah Jones. Even the blindest of the lame can see a striking difference in their assessments.
One more reason to be interested in the lady who was born as Andrea Motis on 9 May 1995 in Barcelona and has now recorded her first independent jazz album with the title Emotional Dance. Remarkable, considering the age of the artist, that she already performed her talent on 10 albums before Emotional Dance. And mostly with saxophonist Joan Chamorro, who as teacher and mentor led Andrea Motis to where she stands today.
But the last kick to get on her own feet came after an meeting with Quincy Jones, who heard Andrea at the Festival de Castell de Peralada in northern Catalonia in 2011 with the youth jazz band of the Sant Andreu Academy of Music.

Ein Grund mehr uns mit der Dame zu beschäftigen, die als Andrea Motis am 09. Mai 1995 in Barcelona geboren wurde und jetzt ihr erstes eigenständige Jazz-Album mit dem Titel Emotional Dance aufgenommen hat. Bemerkenswert, berücksichtigend das Alter der Künstlerin, dass sie vor Emotional Dance bereits auf 10 Alben ihr Können zum Besten gab. Und das meist mit dem Saxophonisten Joan Chamorro, der als Lehrer und Mentor Andrea Motis dorthin führte, wo sie heute steht.
Doch der letzte Kick, sich auf eigene Beine zu stellen, kam nach einer Begegnung mit Quincy Jones, der Andrea 2011 beim Festival de Castell de Peralada in Nordkatalonien mit der Jugendjazzband der Sant-Andreu-Musikhochschule hörte.
