Sunday thoughts on Saturday: Why now?

in #jesus6 years ago

Genesis 1:14-18, why now?

Last week, why me? This week we continue the outliers series.

God created the sun, the moon, and the stars for a specific purpose. To light the earth and to determine the seasons, to tell the times and the days, and to show signs.

You see when we failed, God curses the earth. The grounds changed. The heavens didn’t change nor did the garden, but the ground did. Despite all the changes it still served their purpose. You see time is vital to creativity. Ecclesiastical 3, there is a time for everything. Submit yourself to do the right thing at the right time.

Time cannot be wasted...

It just goes to something else. Your putting value into it. You cannot waste time, but you can waste purpose. The clock doesn’t slow down for anyone. In a blink of an eye, we can be 75 years old and question where we put our time in. Which leaves us feeling that we didn’t put our time and purpose where God intended.

Offensive will take your time for too long.

We don’t have time to entertain past hurts. Focusing on offensive can consume so much of us it puts us in a vegetative state.

A day with God is like a thousand years

The difference is perspective. You see the sun go up and down, correlate it to a 24 hr clock, but what if we go to space, depending on which planet you are in time is different. In some planets a day is 27 hours, in another, it is 100,000 thousand hours.

When we start to change our perspective on how God wants us to see yourself.

  • Remove yourself from where you are and stand on Gods truth and you will see yourself as he sees you.
  • It’s how you start to see differently.

Gods timing is patient

Our timing is rushed.

Jesus lived in entirety, he controlled time, he stood above time. He wasn’t limited by time. For example, when the disciplines were casting out a demon from a child. Jesus approached and asked what are you doing? They respond we have spent hours attempting to cast out demons. Jesus replies, don’t you know such things are only resolved with fasting and prayer?

why would Jesus chat while the boy is convoluting on the ground.

Others may look at it as an emergency, but Jesus was dealing with their unbelief. How often do we view a crisis or emergency, when God is dealing with us?

Like the boat that was in a heavy storm and Jesus was sleeping. He rose and said, be still. He wasn’t just telling the storm to be still, but he was dealing with the chaos in their lives/hearts too.

How are we utilizing our time?

How often are you rushing?

Slow down. Are you doing too much? Are you leaving time to unimportant items and rushing to what is? Sometimes if you slow down you move faster. Like a race car, you have to commit to the turn at high speeds and if you slowly increase the faster you will go.

Gods time is specific.

His so specific with the purpose of your life.

You have a purpose because he believes your life has a value. You have a reason, you have a purpose, and we often forget God cares about the little details.

Not just the dying, but the struggles of daily life. He knows all the details of your life, he knows your dreams, your stresses, and concerns. He cares and loves you so much he went to the cross for you.

Gods timing is thoughtful

1 Kings 7

Being obedient and you will see miracles flourish. The truth is not all of us have the time. The time to wait on God, to seek him, and be patient. You have no need for God and you wouldn’t appreciate miracles if you saw It every day. If you were given it all, always, like a genie granting wishes.

It’s done by the grace of God, not by the snaps of our figures. That’s why give thanks in all things. You are a walking talking miracle.

When you embrace Gods timing, when you trust him and challenge ourselves to be in Gods obedience, then we will see a lot of shift in your life.

Great one Kubby. I lost an important job a few weeks ago and was devastated. Spent two weeks moping and feeling misreable. Am back on my feet now but still feel bad about that lost time and not trusting God's purpose for my life. This just reminded me...indeed inspired words

Every week seems like more of a rush then the last. I guess this is what it is like to finally have time spin out of control.

Yesterday I went outside for a good hour or so. Just wanted to enjoy some fresh air and take a short break away from it all.

Have a great weekend.
