Your Most Valuable Book

in #journal6 years ago

THE most valuable book you can ever purchase will be:

A BLANK ONE
Yes, you read that right. It will be blank. Full of empty pages. Nothing to read...yet...

This will be YOUR most valuable book because you are about to fill it with:

  1. Your dreams and goals. Far-flung places you would like to visit. People you would like to meet. Things you would like to have. Causes you would like to support. The person you would like to become.
  2. Notes on your day - what went well; what went no so well. Plans for (a better) tomorrow.
  3. Plans for your business and career. Goals and time-frames. Your Master-Plan for world domination!
  4. Doodles and sketches that help you make sense of the world
  5. Jottings of great quotes or advice that you hear - capture these in your book
  6. A list of the books that you would like to read
  7. Notes from the best books that you have already read
  8. Important dates - birthdays, anniversaries - plans for what you will do to make this next event extra special
  9. Cut-outs from magazines of people or things that inspire you (stuck into the pages of your book).
  10. Your thoughts, ponderings and general observations on stuff. On life.
Your book will accompany you everywhere. It will be living and breathing your life, as you add to it each day. And then, in years to come, when you've filled every bit of white-space and had to move onto a new book; you will revisit this book and be gob-smacked as you realise that you are now living your dreams and goals and plans - those goals and plans that you etched into this book all those years ago.

Writing has power. Documenting your life's plan in a book - in real ink on white paper - has a profound effect. It brings things into motion that would otherwise potentially never materialise. Not everything will come to fruition but I have no doubt that you will enjoy the process of creating your most valuable book day-by-day.

Go invest in a moleskine journal. Your most valuable book.

Start tomorrow.

First time I realised this I started carrying some empty paper with me to pen some ideas. You're absolutely right

Hi Steve. Funny I have the same thing. I have to carry my book with me everywhere. I use it for customers as I jot down things when I am with them. Any things that I think of during the day so i don't forget at a later stage and has helped me no end.
