Khaleda's bail hearing ends, tomorrow judgment

The verdict on the bail order of BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia in the Zia Orphanage Trust corruption case will be pronounced on Wednesday. After the hearing of the prosecutor's attorney general this day was fixed.

Earlier, the attorney general of the state against the bail granted by the High Court to Khaleda Zia also asked for more hearing. Following this petition, the four judges of the four judges led by the Chief Justice asked the attorney general to hear the verdict, without declaring the judgment, at 12 noon. Today the hearing began at 12 noon on Tuesday.
Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) lawyer Khurshid Alam Khan said before the verdict, attorney general Mahbubey Alam has left some more submissions (hearing) in the case, appealing to the court. He wants one day time to keep this submission. Then the court asked him to present the submission at 12 noon. Earlier, after the hearing of all the proceedings, the Appellate Division fixed May 15 for the verdict.

Khurshid Alam Khan, on behalf of the ACC, first heard Khaleda's bail on the morning of May 8. Later, attorney general Mahbubey Alam also pleaded for the state.

Then, on behalf of Khaleda, AJ Mohammad Ali started hearing but remained unfinished. From there, he began hearing on 9 May. On February 08, Khaleda Zia was sentenced to five years in jail. At the same time, Khaledaputra and BNP Senior Vice Chairman Tarique Rahman were sentenced to 10 years imprisonment.
