Kitten Lady: The Voice For Orphaned Kittens

Kitten season is here and we all know that the shelters cannot take all the kittens born outside and find them loving homes. Most kittens, especially those with no mother are those who are killed first in the shelters.

The brilliant woman behind the project, Kitten Lady, is Hannah Shaw. Hannah has dedicated her life to save the fragile lives of kittens that cannot otherwise live without their mothers. Most kittens brought to shelters that are younger than 6 weeks are put to sleep if they are not able to feed and thrive on their own. Hannah is paving the way to change that.

Kitten Lady is a project that Hannah started to save neonatal and abandoned kittens. She has given her whole life for this cause. She is constantly fostering and taking kittens in that would otherwise perish if they were not in her care. Additionally, to having this project, Hannah also goes out of her way to get trained and educated on how to take care and save neonatal kittens. Kittens that are born and do not have a mother, but struggle to live. She is educated in everything kitten.

Hannah has become one of the goto people when it comes to fostering or helping the kittens around the world. She travels all over the globe and the United States, giving lectures and conventions on how to help kittens in our communities. The passion and love she has for this cause is truly heart warming.

Helping her is her partner, Andrew Marttila, who is a cat photographer (how ironic!?). Andrew helps Hannah with bringing light and attention to her cause with his photography. Together they run Kitten Lady Inc., which is an organization that provides rescue and adoption services in their home town of Washington, DC.
