- Near the French town of Amiens on the Somme begins the counteroffensive of British associations. The British succeed immediately the rapid break-in in the German front arch between Amiens and St. Quentin.
- The Red Army, built by Leo D. Trotsky (aka Bronschtin), the Soviet People's Commissar for Defense, recaptures Kazan from the hands of the White Guards.
- The company Hugo Stinnes, Mülheim / Ruhr acquires the coal and coke plant "Hansa" in Bremerhaven as a basis for the construction of a fish steamer shipping company.
