[Mindfulness] The piano has a voice.

The piano has a voice. Of course, if you think physically, there is no voice. This is because it may sound that thhe sound comes from how hard you hit it. Moreover, after hitting the strings, no matter how you press them, no sound is produced.

I can not force myself to make a sound. So the piano has a voice.

The voice contains our body. In doing so, the voice have abstracts. Because it has meaning. The physical body and the abstract meaning, the voice from the threshold. So it is more than just information exchange. A is a surplus that can not be reduced by the exchange that becomes B, because it is in the voice.

피아노는 목소리를 가지고 있습니다. 물론 물리적으로 생각하면 목소리가 없습니다. 단지 현을 얼마나 세게 치느냐에 따라 소리가 나는 것이라 여길 수도 있기 때문입니다. 게다가 현을 때리고 난 뒤에는 아무리 눌러도 소리가 이어지지 않습니다. 소리를 내게 하려고 억지로 힘을 줄 수도 없다는 것입니다. 그래서 피아노는 목소리를 가지고 있습니다.

목소리는 우리의 신체를 담고 있습니다. 그러면서 추상을 담고 있습니다. 의미를 갖기 때문입니다. 물리적인 신체와 추상적인 의미, 그 문턱에서 나는 게 목소리입니다. 그래서 말은 단순한 정보교환 이상입니다. A는 B가 되는 교환으로는 환원할 수 없는 잉여가 목소리에는 있기 때문입니다.

피아노의 음색도 마찬가지입니다. 베토벤은 피아노 소나타 31번 3악장에 메아리가 울리듯 연주하라고 합니다. 물리적으로는 불가능하다고 해요. 그건 느낌으로만 가능하기 때문입니다. 건반에 닿는 손의 면적, 중력에 맡기는 능력 등. 그 느낌은 피아니스트의 중심이 담겨 있습니다. 때문에 어설프게 흉내낸다고 그 음색을 낼 수 있는 게 아니라 합니다. 피아니스트의 삶에 대한 태도, 그게 담겨 있기 때문입니다.

리히테르는 자기에게 연주 요청이 들어오면, 작은 마을이든, 작은 교회든, 심지어는 조율이 안된 피아노가 있는 곳이라도 가서 연주했다고 합니다. 자아를 넘어 피아노의 세계로 들어가고자 했기 때문입니다. 중심이 있는 받아들임은 큰 홀가분으로 이어지나 봅니다.
