신이 내게 묻는다면

무너진 흙더미 속에서
풀이 돋는다
신이 내게 묻는다면
오늘 내가 무슨 말을 하리
저 미물보다
더 무엇이라고 말을 하리
다만 부끄러워
때때로 울었노라
대답할 수 있을 뿐
풀은 자라
푸른 숲을 이루고
조용히 그늘을 만들 때
말만 많은 우리
뼈대도 없이 볼품도 없이
키만 커간다
신이 내게 묻는다면
오늘 내가 무슨 말을 하리

From the inside of a crumbled mound
buds a grass.
If God asks me,
what shall I say today?
Than the minikin is
I am more, Shall I say?
Just feeling ashamed
I have cried at times
is all that I can answer.
When the grass grows
to become a part of a green wood
and silently make a shade,
We, busy-tongued,
without skeleton, without looking nice,
are just growing taller.
