[Science] 탄소 동소체

과학이야기를 다루려고 합니다.
우리가 연필심으로 쓰는 흑연
값비싼 다이아몬드
(본 적은 없는 것들이지만)
풀러렌, 탄소 나노튜브,그래핀
이런 것들이 모두 탄소라는 사실이
신기합니다.
흑연
다이아몬드
풀러렌
탄소나노튜브
그래핀
다른 원자 없이
오직 탄소로만 구성되는데
3D 구조가 다를 뿐입니다.
구조가 다르면 성질이
완전히 달라지는 것이죠.
이렇게 하나의 원자로 이루어지지만
성질이 다른 물질들을
동소체라고 합니다.
철도 동소체가 있고
산소도 동소체가 있지만
최고는 단연 탄소입니다.
하나 쭉~~~배웁니다.
배울께 참 많은 세상 입니다.
제 전공이 재료공학이어서 결정학(crystallography) 수업 들었던 것이 기억나네요.. ㅋ 이제 15년이 넘어가지만..
고등학교 때도 다른 과학은 싫어해도 화학은 좋아했어요.ㅎ
항상 이런 거 보면 도대체 어떻게 발견한 건지 신기하네요.
