Landscape Photography - Stone Circles in Derbyshire, UK

Stone Circles are associated with Pagan and Druid Ceremonies but we don't know for definite. Stone circles in Derbyshire go back to the bronze age and earlier.

This one is classed as a stone circle but it looks more like some sort of sheep pen.

Larger stones are placed every few metres apart.

This is a smaller stone circle. Sometimes they are difficult to spot because of overgrown vegetation.

This is a cairn - a mound of rocks which are used as landmarks or memorials.

We didn't stick around for too long as it was bitterly cold.

Thank you.
