Leadership will expose you to a lot of things you never thought you could do before. In leadership, you will be exposed to things and you must never place a limit on yourself, thinking ”I can’t do this thing”. There is nothing you cannot do if you have the right attitude and you put your mind to it. Have a favourable disposition to things and learn to dare new things. You never really know how far you can go until you stretch. Many times we feel we can’t move on, but we will be surprised at the length we have gone right from the point we thought was the end.
With great power comes great responsibility.
Making a tough decision come with being a leader and you must have a decision-making process and how you reached that decision. You must know yourself, as a leader. Some people are never quick to answer others or make a certain decision. Some people process a decision longer and even spend days before they can reach a logical decision while some will make their decision on the spot. When you know yourself and how you make your decisions, you can learn how to respond to situations without pressure.
Be rational with your decisions; never make decisions based on emotions; how excited you are, how you feel about someone, how angry you are, or even how hungry you are. Learn to make decisions by weighing the pros and cons of it without any bias at all. Never be cajoled to make decisions under pressure too. Learn to always take your time because you will be the one to bear the consequences of whatever decision you make. Everything always rises and fall on leadership.
As a leader, always make sure you are adding values to lives. Never leave anyone as you met them; rather leave people better than you met them because that is the only reason why you won’t be dispensable. When you are a value adder, you become indispensable.

Value adding must be the core thing a leader must have in mind at all times, to impact in his followers positively, just like you have said, not to leave them as he has met them but rather leave them refined. A good leader get things done and not just creating a pleasant working environment. A good leader make decision that propel the organization or followers follow. And never rush into conclusions on any matter as they arise.
Thank you so much and I am happy you can see more from the post. A lot of people who hold leadership positions don't understand what it entails to be a leader. They see it more as a position rather than a responsibility.
