Servanthood Leadership 仆人式领导

Both the political and NGO leaders cannot be effective if they are without the capacity to lead and to serve people. Apparently, servants and leaders fall under two different categories. However, the true leaders are those providing direction as well as service for the betterment of their people whom they have committed themselves to lead and serve.

If a person who has the gift of leadership but without the passion to serve others, probably the best he or she can offer is by playing the role as a consultant or an advisor. Similarly, another person who has the gift of serving others but without the ability to lead can only play the role of a servant.

Indeed, the people who desire to lead must not only equip their skills of leadership, but also inculcate the servanthood attitude and behaviour. Therefore, the leaders today who can lead wisely and serve passionately are more likely to have leadership for the long haul.

無論是在政治圈和非政府组织的人，如果他们没有能力领导和服务人，他们就不能成为稱聀的领袖。仆人和领袖通常是被视为属于两个不同的範围。然而，真正的领袖不但能提供方向，还包括了服事他人以改善他们所委身领导及服务的羣体。

如果一个人拥有领导能力但缺乏了热情服务人，他所能做的恐怕也只是提供諮询或扮演顾问的角色。同样的，另外一位则有力量服务但没有能力领导别人，他可以扮演的也只能是仆人角色。

任何想成为领袖的人不仅要具备领导能力，还要加強仆人的态度和行为。所以今天的领袖如果能明智地领导和热情服务，便可能长期领导。

The servanthood leadership is like the watchman together with the beacon. The watchman is not visible as compared to the beacon. But the watchman always faithfully ensures the beacon shining to give direction to the ships.
僕人式领导一如看守员和燈搭，看守员不像燈搭讓人查觉他的存在。但他却忠心确保燈發出光以便船隻不致失却了方向。
